do you like mixing classical music with trance?

imho, it's the best thing that can happen to trance music.. and artists who do that are the best... Shpongle, Infected Mushroom, Juno Reactor..... can you recommend any other names?           Dream is my world. Goa is my motherland. Trance is my religion. Flying is my life.

It totally depends on how the merge between the two is done. With a lot of classical music some pieces are simply sampled, some effects thrown over after which the main bassline kicks in. I mostly find the transitions between a classical piece to the digital production rather poorly done. Having said that, classical music is a great source for inspiration. Some of the musical composers of then were true masterminds, and some of their works are genuine pearls. And that's exactly the reason why I think that a merging of classical music and digitally produced music can only work when the classical music is treated with the respect it deserves. Music those days was composed for whole orchestras consisting of a whole lot of parts. You can't simply apply some effects and throw in a bassline and call it a succcesful merge. When the transition is done with respect and care, ond only then, can it work.

I’d agree

I love classical music especially here in India we have some very diverse instruments with magnificent histories to it.

Something like Rudra Veena, Groud Flutes, Tabla etc.

They are all perfect.

The harmonics are so special

I even like Buddhist temple bells in the tracks.

They sound so... magical.

Then again each of Beethoven’s symphony is spectacular

silent sphere uses it pretty well. . .using opera samples and then driving into melodic trance with very complex harmony and counterpoint. definitely worthy of the sample.           ein chadash tachat hashemesh. there is nothing new under the sun. --kohelet.
