Here is another review taken from www.psyreviews.com
by Damion Brown
Various
Chronika
Boshke Beats
(Canada/Spain)
A lot of people have been talking about Opsychedelic technoškas a distinct
genre for some time now, and on the strength of this release they might be
just about right. Boshke Beatsšk first CD release features nine tracks, some
from people you know and some from people you donškt, all having firm feet on
the techno ground, as laid down by Carl Craig, Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin and
all the rest of that lot. Midimiliz open with XV!, a scrape-ified skittery
bit of deep techno, and The Deltašks recent single Hero FX adds more
atmosphere than you can shake a stick at and a sci-fright, bustling feel.
Psychodelichesky from Boo.Reka starts pneumatic-gabbaesque from which it
builds, and when it drops youškre left reeling from one of the most beautifil
and direct bits of dance music ever. Authentikšks Vampires is like fighting
drums on a seasick bed of bass, Midimilizšks massive No Exit is brash and
brazen, a soundtrack to a mental 3-d VR videogame and just as paranoid as
its name suggests, and the portable feel of Spiralkinderšks Wide Screen
builds up a wicked looped groove, drops in a cyber-disco break, and gets the
feet and brains moving like it should. Fuzzionšks Out Of Order has a broken
mis-set feel and almost sounds like cryogenically frozen electro in the 35th
centuary, and the cinematic dubby vibe behind Neser DNAšks Stainless Steel is
enough to get the paranoid insectine among you rabid for mercy. Things
escalate into pure digitadelia with Metalogicšks sublime Mutual Exclusion,
with lazy breaks that sound like theyškre made up of spare parts from all the
other tunes on the album. All in all itšks wonderful, an aqcuired tate, but
wonderful. Therešks little here to please the old-skool goa crowd but if, as
the stoned philossophers tell us, machines and AI will one day rise up and
conquer humanity, then this is their soundtrack to get them in the mood for
species annihilation. If that ideašks to your taste, then sošks this album.

Just been viewing the reviews and back to this topic couldnt pass it through reviewing this bassomatic piece! It's still in my car-changer already for 8 weeks, perfect riding under the moonlight with this one!

So here is my full-length review:
After the cover art sets the mood and you've begun listening to the release it becomes evident some consistency exists in each track on thecompilation. Each artist's tracks seem to have been chosen both for their attention to intelligent construction and originality first, more than trying to put out a particular style of compilation like a "dance floor" or "techno" compilation. This compilation plays more like a full release from an artist because the track order helps initiate and maintain an overall feeling and mental state. It starts with a slow groover that pounds at times to ease you into the release, building up to a peak with the fifth track on the album "No Exit" by Midimiliz . An unbelievable track that has some personal feeling for me. After the sonic energy peaks with the fifth track, tracks 6-8 on the compilation switch up the gears and
really showcase how diverse the producer's musical tastes are. I found these tracks both the biggest challenge to listen to and "get". Ultimately I feel that these tracks helped me as a music listener to appreciate different ways track sequencing can affect the overall feel of a track. Quickly these tracks, specifically "Out of Order" by Fuzzion, became my favorite repeat listens. An ambient pounder ends off the compilation
completing the wave which had peaked in the middle of the release letting go of the listeners brain so they can return to normal conciousness. The production is fantastic, unique and stylish, one of the most potential releases in my opinion from this year!
Congratulations Boshke Beats! Please keep banging us in the head !:)

another review for Chronika just been discovered on:
http://www.technopunkmusic.com

here it is:

Chronika Chapter One

Boshke Beats ( www.boshkebeats.com )

2002

**** 1/2

Hard trance, hard breaks, psy-trance and pure, unadulterated dark techno all on one compilation disc.

Quick, what are your thoughts? C’mon, admit it, you’re a little scared because chances are you are not of the minority who adore this sort of savage darkness. Allow me to relay a little psychology for a moment. A dance floor is, for the most part, a dark and shadowed abode where personal demons get unleashed in a personal celebration of physical, emotional and spiritual freedom.

And nothing, absolutely nothing, fits into that inviting crevice of activity better than music that matches that visual gloom. Now, if you’re of the minority who adore this musical darkness then just one listen to Chronika Chapter One is enough to stir up that wicked imagination and fester those devilish emotions that undoubtedly dwell within your soul.

Nine tracks that range between unrelenting physical pleasure, unrestrained energy and brutal powers of sound are enough to get the intrigue flowing. But when each track takes off into a stunningly different direction from its predecessor (and each track is air-tight quality, mind you,) you can begin to fathom what dangerous roads this pleasingly forbidding journey travels upon.

Authentik’s "Vampires" is a psy-trance explosion of mythical powers. That distinct rumbling bass that makes the best of this genre memorable is ever present on this slayer but anyone honed into this style is well aware that the bass just isn’t enough. No problem! The track does flex its power for a good amount of the track and that does suffice yet when the almost agonized synth wail becomes the highlight, the track is quite suited to the eloquent, stylish art of the Nosferatus and Lestats of vampiric creation.

Midimiliz’ revved up intro to this collection is a free flowing well of moody techno greatness. It’s that glorious spiritual medium that great dark techno manages so effectively that is also accomplished here. However, when "XV!" shoots some acidic breaks into the veins of this already successful work, the results are stellar.

Midimiliz does enjoy to rev the engine at the beginning of his tracks within this collection (seriously, that’s exactly what it sounds like) and his second contribution on the whiplash psy of "No Exit" is firing on all cylinders. The results are just as spectacular as his introductory contribution and, indeed, who knew that a touch of the breaks could sound this damn good next to goa.

While Neser D.N.A.’s "Stainless Steel" stalker takes its time kicking in a hole of its own, the drawn-out, meticulous and lurking intro provides the frightening effects that are less apparent elsewhere on the disc. To be honest, the styles and cover art of Chronika give rise to certain degrees of dread but this is the track that validates that feeling.

Elsewhere, The Delta’s tech gem contribution on "Hero FX part 1," the funk clashes of Metalogic’s "Mutal Exclusion" and Spiralkinder’s complex psy mastery on "Wide Screen" are right on the heels of the leaders of this pack.

And snapping at one’s heels is exactly where this pummeling collection remains throughout its extraordinarily powerful duration.
