Chillout with IDM beats (?)

Hello all,

I'm looking for tracks like the first and the last three ones on Electrypnose's Subliminal Melanchonies album; Submarine, New Wave, This is the Beginning and 00-16. Especially New Wave is amazing

Music that's also like this are the albums Megrim and Hang on to a Dream (both by Kattoo - amazing artist!) If you like the above mentioned Electrypnose tracks, you should certainly check out those albums!

Anyway I'm looking for more of this kind of music.. The thing with the music is that's is very chilled out, but it has this layer of crunchy, stuttering, reversing, slow-to-fast, epic-kind of beats which I love (I think they're IDM-kind of beats, but I'm not sure).

But I'm not looking for IDM because it's not very chilled (or maybe I listened to the wrong artists). And I don't like it when it's very... bleepy.

So, any recommendations??

Actually, I know your album 'Technical Illusions', Don't know if you have any more work out? Anyway, your album -kind of- fits within the music I'm looking for And then I'm thinking of the tracks 44100 Hz, Behind the Sun and Elemental..

I think Elemental is my fav track of the album. And Martian Atmosphere is also REALLY great if you turn up the volume.. Wooooommmpp.. Woooeeemmmmppppp.. BEEP.. hehe ;-)

But anyway yea it's a bit different.. As in: the beats are not as 'present' and twisted But your work in the same street as the stuff I'm looking for

Try this: Low profile society - 3d concepts pt.3
I think it's ambient with little IDM bleeps.

Try Planet Boelex - Suunta EP

Gorgeous chilled melodies with soft glitchy idm beats. Good stuff and best of all, it's free.

Think you would like some tracks from "A Magical Journey" (parts 1 and 2) by Ajana Records. Esp. the second one which has tracks by Unstable Elements, Procs, Zoe Wheelings and Chronos of the kind. Part 1 though has my favorite Electrypnose track "Perce Oreille" .

Vibrasphere has chillout tracks which are similar - but I cant think of an album with just his chillout tracks..I have heard them in various compilations by Ultimae, Chillcode or Chillosophy series by Digital Structures.

Also, try Bioluminescence by Native State Records. Devil in the Details is already mentioned though its more glitchy than what you are looking for. and Bluetech.

Oke thanks for the recommendations all, I will certainly try some out
An hmm yea Devil in the Detail isnt exactly what I'm looking for I guess (listened to some of it), I mean the beats don't have to be chilled for me, I like it when they go active

There's a great compilation called v/a Ice Ages that has the exact style of music - I think - that you are looking for.

for melodic IDM, you could try these:

Secret Frequency Crew, Deru, Lusine, Metamatics, Tipper, Funkcarma - just a few of the myriad artists out there.

If you're looking for epic beats, you might want to look into the direction of Luke Vibert, Squarepusher, Planet Mu, that sort of stuff..           ..it's just another party..

listening to Kattoo..

reminds me more of darkwave music, especially Coil. ever hear Love's Secret Domain?

you might like Monolake too, a lot of his stuff is pretty dark and atmospheric like this.

          ..it's just another party..

New aligning minds release coming on Native State soon.

Also new EPs from Bass Science, and the FMs, wll of which add an IDM element to chill.

Wow this one is great! Thanks for the link.
Sure wish it was available in full quality instead of compressed mp3.
