okies, after having the realisation that the north has absolutely nothing to offer for NYE, we decided to venture down south and partake in the chichime party. S-Range were wicked at Voov, so would be more than happy to see them again.

After deliberating over the costs of the whole venture, and deciding that we would pay the advertised £20 (£25 + bf) we were somewhat disgruntled to find that after checking out tickets on access all areas the tickets are in fact (after credit card fee and what ever else they decided to charge for) £28.50. That's surely £8.50 more than the original advertised price.

Don't want to sound like a stingey scrooge, but the extra pounds really do make a difference, especially when you have to pay transport costs and all that. Surely S-Range don't charge that much??????? What is the capacity of the club? If everyone plays £28.50 then I reckon someone somewhere is making a profit. Or do we have to pay for other people to get on the guest list???

Hmmmmmmmmmm just a thought. Can't help but think that parties are coming more and more about the money. And the Chichime organisers are making the most of the fact that there are no other decent psy parties on this new year.

and another thing.............

sorry, you'll have to appreciate that i've bin in the pub for a few hours (old speckled hen on tap mmmmmmm..........)

so i was talking to a friend of mine down londinium way and happened to mention that i might be going to chichime (chi-chime) and he looked at me like i was stooopid and then said "oh you mean chi-chi-may". i mean whats that all about??? surely if you are going to say "chi-chi-may" then you want to put "chichimé" on the flyers. Now i'm sure coming from north of watford gap that i can't speak properly but i mean................

anyway, that enuff of that.....if someone can answer my query then that'd be cool but i can't help thinking "hmmmmmmmmm wrong!!"

btw....i'm not going on NYE cos i'm off to leeds to watch clive james and i fully expect to be "off-topic"ed for this but hey its christmas and good will to all men and all that...........

also i'm actually encouraging all my friends to go this might cos it'll be a blinder........

regarding Chichime NYE and the price.....

We do very much look forward to the night as we have had great response from loads of people! As for the entry price we feel that we need to clarify this for some who seemed a bit concerned. We have advertised for a long time that ticket prices BEFORE Christmas were £20 + bf. After Christmas, as we informed everyone via our website, flyers and emails, the price went up to £25 + bf. As for the booking fee, we have just checked with e.g. Cyberdog, where the charge is, after Christmas, £25 + £1 booking fee. Unfortunately we do not have the authority to decide the ticket outlets' fee which is the same for all other promoters.

Now, the entry is indeed more than a normal night and this is for several reasons. The venue, artists, and all others who are part of the production all charge more on a night like this; some double, some even four times the normal rate. This is normal procedure for NYE parties as many other promoters can verify. Also, the rate before Christmas was only £2 more than many normal nights at other trance parties this autumn so we don't believe we are that outrageous.

We hope we have been able to clarify this, and we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday night!

NYE 2002 TICKET OUTLETS BOOKING FEES (FOR ALL PROMOTERS)

ACCESS ALL AREAS £2.50 for cash payment, £3.50 for credit card booking
PSY DMT £2.50
SILVERBACK RECORDS £1.50
CYBERDOG (COVENT GARDEN) £1.00

wowzers, its a crazeeee world of leather. Four times as much for a party, seems a bit steep but guess thats the way it goes and i can TOTALLY appreciate the problems that this must cause promotors all over. I guess at the end of the day you've gotta be in it to win it so you have to bite the bullet and stump up the cash.

i think that main issue that comes up from a punters point of view is that you live 'out of the loop' as it were and ring up to order tickets from a shop on yer credit card for you and your 6 mates. So thats £20 x 7 £140. Nice. then u discover that its gone up to £25 (x 7) = £175, then the shop adds about £2 onto that so the price for 7 tickets comes to the princely sum of £190 (give or take), this is about £50 dearer than what you expected to pay, kind of hard to swallow when yer stumping up the cash for mates. we've all been there though............aaaaaaaaaaanyway, its must be frustrating for all, especially when you're trying to organise a party and someone, somewhere turns round and says "weeeeeeell actually that''ll cost £1million as opposed to £1 which we thought it was before".
Anyway, fair play all, better get back to work really, hope its all good on tuesday and comes together and is a bloody good night, i'll probably be wishing i was there. Inabit

Here is the review for nye,by dj kalimomboh[franchesco]. The Chichime crew kept their philosophy of music first, what a start to the year this was.first on was Psylo he warmed up the crowd with an energetic prog set,and cleverly ended his set atmidnight with the Cosmosis tune which i think is called human evolution, the crowd went bonkers.Thenthe midnight preformance was a hypnotic belly dance from Fara of Psy Dmt accompanied by Sean on drums.Ben R tek then came on playing progressive which then lead on to uplifting full on.this left the crowd ready for Kristian who melted one track on to another. His twisting sounds drove the dance floor up.He then brought it down a bit, with what i call full on psy prog, very appropiate forS Range to start his live set.Srange also rocked lots of sci fi sounds in his set, moving feet and shaking heads, massive. For the last bit of the night,Marchello and Simo gave us more Psy mayhem,Avery nice flowing back to back, shaking the club.
The 2nd room was the typical unique Chichime sound, chill out to start, building on to groovey and dark progressive hse and trance.Phil,Deepsy,Fara,DJ Phonton,Dave Arc i,Rik 180.Hypnotised the groovey funky souls in this intimate cosy room.
Wicked party,exellent fresh crowd,with a good vibe.Top music.See u in the next one.Kalimomboh.[Franchesco]
