How about using Joomla as it's a free open source Content Management System. The forum shouldn't be too difficult to merge with the SQL database. Just strip out 99% of the Joomla package to a front page and a forum. Some simple CSS changes to keep the same 'blue' look and feel.
Free upgrades - free is good yes? |

Zork has a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm when it comes to Equipment and he is a well liked member in this forum, what about making him a mod for the equipment forum?
I think it might turn more people on if this place had a somewhat international name. And some name that makes it easier to find. So that more people who care might find this forum!
As far as getting rid of forums, I guess if it's not used there is no other way. One could make sections like Israel, Northern Europe, Greece, you know, just take all the forums where there is no or hardly any traffic and make them into one forum e.g. Rest Of Europe, and see if then there is enough traffic... if not one can still get rid of it all.
One could make a forum for tutorials and the likes, and still keep the music production forum for everything else.
I still have and always had difficulties with the search function, at times I was looking for old threads and could not find them anywhere. A simplified system which lets you find threads anywhere would be a great thing, sort of like a search page.
One more thing, I would be up for a free Isratrance VA compilation if there are more peeps interested, I don't think there has been one in quite a while and it would be nice to see Shahar and co come up with something, maybe a style or a mix of styles?
I have already seen talk about one...

it would be nice to have a single place dedicated to the live acts of psytrance. not a place for "this is live, this is not" but a posting ground for all the guys that make acoustic trance or preform with instruments….
could be more trouble than it's worth, but as that's what i would like to do, it would be nice to have all the examples within reach.
can't tell you how long it takes to wade through all the arguements…

Shahar actually compiled a VA of massive tunes some years ago, though not associated with Isratrance.
But yes, I was thinking the same thing - an Isratrance VA. I was thinking it could include tracks by all you guys in the production sections. Like a showcase of all the work everyone's been doing.

The free VA is WIN.
Its been a long road to this point, im surprised that change hasn't happened many times since then.
Maybe this change could also bring, idk not a new background color, but perhaps, just a splash of anotehr color...

so now that there is an offtopic section you might as well get rid of the "links" section right? its the same type of stuff posted on both of those forums
Also the world music forum is kind of dead, I'm kind of giving up posting there. I suggest to get rid of it and have people post everything "world music" related into the music forum.

Funny enough, I consider OOOD special when it comes to music, one of the few nowadays who really pour their soul into their music.
I certainly look forward to their next album...
and my next own album mastered by them for that matter...
