IMO the point of using frightening or horrifying samples or atmospheres is a way of showing people a path, a path which will rid them of their fear.
(I have a feeling you'll laugh at Bad Taste, its supposed to be funny  )
IN the dark of night, anything could be out there, anything at all. We have no way of knowing that there isnt a huge horde of orcs waiting to ambush us. To me the night is the time when the imagination is free from the bounds of the day, when its so apparent what is and isnt real. Horror aspects are one way of making us face our fears, and overcome them, and become stronger afterwards. Just one way of course, and maybe not the best.
Personally, my favorite movies are horror, and my favorite books are by authors such as HP Lovecraft. Such things can be horrifying, but if you really look at it, its really just so alien its uncomfortable.
I agree that throwing a random "Im gonna kill you! AAAAAGHGHAAHAAHAAAAAH" sample in is pretty cheesy on its own, when its not well thought out. Making trance for only the cheesy horror aspect is kinda lame. Some of that, though, like Horror Place, if all you hear is the cheesy horror samples, you're missing out on a whole lot. At first, Hobyah really bothered me and I felt it was just cheese (some songs on it still bother me, those damned basslines) but after some more listens I hear a lot of things to enjoy.

In the same way that the movie is an exploitation film, Cannibal Holocaust is an exploitation musical act, and part of their goal is (by sacrificing some artistic merit for sensationalistic display in appearance and music) to offend idiots who are going to vent their frustrations on online forums and to their friends, and give C.H. free advertising.

Bad music? Ok. Stupid costumes? Thats fine. Cheesy Samples? If you say so
but do not judge someones intelligence by the way the look/ the music they put out

I didint actually see the images, all I saw was the myspace page with two normal looking kids with an israeli flag in the background. (I wonder how their grandparents would feel about the holocaust part of the name)

to me anything that's not well thought out sounds shallow. Anything that sounds shallow, to me, is cheesy. If an act is just throwing such imagery over a basic bassline with crazy noises, then it sucks.
But, if an artist can find a way to do these things tastefully its a whole other story.
But Cannibal Holocaust...

well...
all i cin say bout such s#$@ is that these guys are just people with emotional conflicts....who want to be "cool" and look all "macho"....by displaying that the sing and screech about "death"....
PS:isnt death as evident and inevitable as life itself...
and i just beleive all those A$$ ^%^5s who go gaga about death and blood,shuld go and kill themselves and releive themselves and us of this crap...!

If people dig it and are having fun, without hurting anyone or ruining YOUR fun, why is there any problem? I mean, sure, you may not like that kind of thing, but look at all the people out there into things like grindcore and shit like that. Its horrible music which talks about terrible things, but people apparently dig it.
If you dont like it, dont listen to it! Is someone forcing it on you? If they play it at a party, then go sit in the bar or your tent or something til something better comes on.
As has been said, I believe the real problem is not the bad music, so much, as it is all the people who do nothing but complain, and contribute nothing but negativity. If you dont like it, how about you go and throw a party the way YOU like it! And lay off the people who DO like it.
They're having fun, why take that away from them? People even have fun at a Skazi show. But shit-talking Skazi is as old as Skazi.
