so i decided to get CDJ's as soon as i could afford 'em, before i spend a ton of money, just wanted to ask several questions . right now i know the basic knowledge , and i had several tries at other ppl's grear, so i want to keep doing it for fun . so i guess i should get a 100 ( the silver ones, the basic type )and there is a mixer that comes together with it . or should i get something else ? anyway all the usefull info on this subject would be greatly appreciated .

how much it cost? I want a couple of CDJ's too!!!
I happened to dj a morning set in a small party this thursday (it wasn't planned) and fell in love!
I never dj'ed live before so my mixing skills are poor. but I sure learned fast! :)
now I want to practice.. : |

my thoughts exactly... the CDJ 100 s is about 1000$ (two players) last i checked, not including the mixer, they offer the DJM 300s and it all suits really nice in the box that comes with it . you can buy it in europe i heard it's cheaper there, and there a good headphones and this and that and i can't afford any of this right now :) Guy wrote he bought CDJ's, we should ask him.
anyway check out : http://www.pioneerprodj.com/prodj/prodj.htm and start drooling :)
check out this link too, it's a nice review, pretty basic but i learned a few things .

Guy didn't you wrote you switched to cd's ? i must have misunderstood you. and i saw High Guy a bunch of times and there were always a set of CDJ's around . i saw it for less than 500$ each player . anyway it's not an offer it's just the prices i saw , i wouldn't order something that expensive online though . and i can't go to Holland, they already kicked me out once ;) i'm banned there ...
just kidding |

Also yes you can burn (Cut is the right word here) vinyl. a single acetat or dub plate as they're called costs 25-35 Pounds in the UK. a second option is to buy the Vestax record cutter, it was about 3500 Pounds without media. But once you start working with Vinyl there is no substitute. |
