Baraka- A world beyond words.
Amazing film... Have seen it played at trance parties before.
If you haven't seen it, Kundalini, you should check it out. |

definitely agree on Baraka, great cinematic scenes, also
AV3x - The Innerscape Adventure
trippy visuals made for relaxation of the mind in some brainwave stimulation, or so it says...

spirited away --- i think is the same director as princess mononoke... interesting and tripped out gooey monsters and such.
Kaena : the prophecy - is a digital animation by some french artists, lots of great sequences.
the koyaanisquatsi series has some seriously wierd visions... lots of great time-lapse sequences. the first 2 are better than the 3rd
theres a funny japanese video series calles "shopping arcade abenobashi" which has made me laugh and trip out many times... you can find the dvds easily online.
i would say though that all of these would be better if they were properly mixed up by a skilled vj rather than just played alone.

Pretty cool...
Talking about movies, I will recommend Baraka (it's the best), Animatrix, Lucky People Center and 1 Giant Leap.

Baraka and the qatsi series came to mind immediately, but that's not always a good thing for originality..
Try the films of the Canadian nut Guy Maddin. He has an amazing visual style that lends itself perfectly to chillout-scored admiration/perplexity.
"Tales from the Gimli Hospital", "Careful!", and "the Saddest Music in the World" should serve your purpose well. |

if the music is darkish ....
Eraserhead ... its a B/W movie from 1977. directed by none other than David Lynch.
Scary as all heck ... but visually stunning. It would be a perfect projection movie for any Dark-Psy act. |
