I also have noticed that in like the last past year, the BPM-ranges has risen a lot. I remember the days when the dark music was played at range of like 146-150 BPM. As myself, I like ranges like 152-160 BPM though, but sometimes I have felt like all this dark musicmaking has become something like "contest" about who will make the fastest and most killing track, or maybe its just me..? I am though aware of that dark music at like 146 BPM are still created and played, and i like that. Hopefully all of the artists still use their fantasy and feelings to create their music, and not only try to be the top-killer. I am not saying that it really -has turned into something like a contest-, but as it looks now, I am starting to get afraid of it. But hopefully it's just me...

great tracklist, symphony of surgery was great 2, looking forward for this one!
btw just ignore the haters, why bother about idiots anyway, its not "dark", it's just (the most) psychadelic 
what about the psychological and neurological side? imo todays faster psytrance is creating a much deeper psychadelic state of mind, and im talking of music only, without drugs. recently i decided to listen to some older "dark". I found it somehow boring, less psychadelic than new stuff, allthough it used to be one of my very favorites back then. imo nowadays high bpms and the basslines of "dark" help a lot to reach a more hishiryo state of mind.
if its too fast, your just listening it all wrong |
