Hey kids here is the latest update:
*Please Forward Everywhere*
Interdimensional Space Portal update:
Time is flying and the space portal is preparing to launch! Below you will find an update and notes from our meeting on Tue the 29th. We are now meeting every Tues at 7:30, please email me to find out the location. Everyone is welcome.
1) Budget. As you might have heard LSA (the Merkaba project) has been paid for which means we are even closer to reaching our goal. We only need $2600 to make this a reality!!!!
2) Fundraising. The Blasphemental II party raised $300. We need everyone to come out and support the IK party this weekend! Tell all your friends, make sure everyone knows, this is our last big fundraiser before BM so we need to make it count!! don’t be afraid to donate generously at the door if you can afford it. Not only will it be a killer party, but it will help ensure an amazing experience within trance village at BM.
Other fundraisers coming up are: Wed. Aug 13th, we are teaming up with Cosmic Chronicles in San Jose, The wknd of the 16th there will be an outdoor party (more info later), and also we are asking for your spare change! Empty out those change jars and contact kim 415-305-7551 for more info.
3) Production. As you probably know, Randy needs help assembling the merkaba. Cd’s need to be zip tied together and wood needs to be assembled. Wed nights and weekends he is looking for volunteers. Contact him at: RandyC@DreamsandDesigns.com. any little bit helps!
4) Volunteers. We need volunteers for pre-playa, playa and post playa. Anywhere you can help would be appreciated.
* Pre playa: Merkaba assembly, Pick up and drop off stuff for the rental truck wknd of Aug 15th & 16th (4-5 people), loading up the truck from a central location (tba) Aug 23rd (10-15 people).
* Playa:
* Setup on the 23rd and 24th: scaffolding, dome, merkaba and other main infrastructure things, art project and installations.
* Performance art and interactive ideas: We need volunteers to work together and come up with ideas for interactive and ongoing skits and themes within trance village. Also help bring the shopping cart renegade to the playa; contact spook: doctorspook@hotmail.com
* Art Installations: We are looking for artists that would like to display their work in Trance Village anyone who wants to contribute is welcome.
*Downtempo dome: we need help with deco, cdjs and a mixer, and other various things. Please contact Jocelyn: lovejocelyn@earthlink.net
*Clean up and recycling. Although everyone should do this, we need some people to volunteer to look after the camp and make sure people are removing their trash and recycling.
* Tear Down and loading the truck, Sunday Night.
* (also if you are going to help on the playa please try to bring tools: staple guns, cordless drills, hammers, gloves, etc)
* Post playa: Unloading the rental truck, also we need people with trucks to help us return the items in the truck to their original locations.
* All volunteers can sign up in the forum or email: trancevillage@hotmail.com
5) Camping. We have a huge lot for camping and everyone is welcome to create their own mini-theme camps within trance village. We ask that if you plan to plug into our generator that you contribute something to our gennie fund (www.trancevillage.info and use the pay pal button) Please let us know aSAP if you plan to bring a small sound system, dome or any other large items or groups of people in your camp so that we can map out our areas accordingly. Please email me: meg69604@hotmail.com if you have camping questions or to inform us about your mini-theme camp (for ex: We are creating Mistress of Evil camp and we will have a dome and expect about 10-15 people).
6) Djs & Live Acts. Everyone who wishes to play MUST contact us before August 15th. Do not expect to just show up and play. Could anyone explaine me how comes that entrance 2 BM is 250 and still ppl need 2 make fundraising for the trance village? I am not about to complaine, but imho if it is real 2 gether a crowd and charge 250 - u can bring ALL the most famous trance artists and djz there?! It looks like its the most expensive fest i've seen in my life.

Burning Man is not a trance party. Don't get me wrong- there are trance parties that happen at the event but trancers are only a fraction of the people that make the diverse crowd that is Burning Man. The $250 to get in is to pay for the land- which is government owns so you know it's not cheap, sanitation and community services that BM provides for it's population like ice, medics, recycling and things of that nature. If you are confused on what BM is all about there website is key to look over- it's a whole philosphy that isn't just about the trance dance:) I hope that shed some light.

thank you for explanations. actually i know that, but it is still the same... i suppose if there are enough ppl for trance(each 250!) - then you could make a whole city of trance for such an immensely big summ of $. may be it looks different for me as far as i am a foreigner, but still ...

Just to try to clear up the confusion- Burning Man is not a trance party, it is an entire temporary community created by its participants. The entrance fee goes to burning man. If we want to make trance village the money either comes out of our pockets or we raise it through fundraisers. The money we generate is going to pay for a huge sound system, a generator to power the whole camp, a rental truck to get all the stuff there, and our main dance floor art installations.

thanks to all who supported the party last sat, it was an amazing turn out and the positive vibes were bouncing all over the space, just like the dancers!
