hey again well i used to live in LA and the scene is there but its pretty underground. check out organizations like psytribe and greensector, they throw forest raves almost every month if ur into dark, fullon. when i was there i was also waiting for those artists to come down but as mubali said its proabably a matter of cost and getting visa to come down.as far as i know the only melodic psy artists that perform in the states now are infected astrix yahel |

visa and money problems. not many psy party organizers in north america, not many of them have the crowd to support bringing in artists.
USA has shitfuckbitch visa requirements the seem geared to keep the rest of the world from visiting. try bringing an artist from Russia for example or Macedonia...difficult.
biggest problem i can think of is that because everyone is so idealistic and hippie in north america and basically all into "small parties with friends" for ideological or legal reasons, they cant get it together to book someone professional who may need "gasp" a plane ticket and some fee to live off of in order to take the time to come.
if you want more music in North America i suggest getting a party organization together...
and bring your favorite artists...

how come big Djs like Phanatic, System Nipel, Electro Sun etc. do not tour America? I mean a lot of these artists will come as close as Mexico..but totally skip out on America. do they hate Americans or is it a political problem? is it a business/money issue? ive messaged the artists on Myspace but no one gets back to me. we have plenty of raves but techno does not even compare to the musicianship of good Psytrance. Im gonna start the fxcking Psy revolution in America- cause techno sucks!
so whats the deal?? why is America Psy-Dry??
thanks.

More than that, we played in NYC on NYE 1996/7 and Return To The Source did something there before that, if I recall correctly.

ccc was founded in sf back in 95, and their core people did events from the late 80's...
psy has been in usa since it started.
sf was the capital until nyc and acid physix etc got going...
international traveller circuits always included sf anyway- the real destination in usa when you get away from all that east coast malaise... nothing personal but why do i always hear of foreigners visiting miami for fucks sake, then having a plastic time, then saying america is plastic...
go to sf... hello |

Slow down on the sarcasm buddy:) how is the brazil tour going ? Still no pic's from you..are you coming back to the states this year?
Speaking for myself, gatherings in the US are more intimate which I prefer..the downside to this fact is already addressed by Ocelot.."Professional" artists have a hard time getting booked because of the small budget orgs have to work out of.
At the end of the day..I still prefer the small gatherings anyday though..oops..is that bad..??!!

greetings from okinawa. japan tour in progress actually. fukuoka next, then gifu, then tokyo but open air on a mountain outside...
ay! i'll pm you on the pics...
i think what you said about small parties being best or something = thats standard orthodoxy for trancers... most people say that...
im the weird one bucking the trend- saying big parties and festivals are more fun...
so if anything I am wrong...
im just bored with cliques and self=congratulatory circles of tautological redundancies... or something like that...
plus i dont really have many friends anyway so it would be a fucking small party if its just me and my friends...
it just somehow seems less relevant or exciting than a big festival or something...
not that i want to hear skazi endlessly but when an artist i like is playing on a big system in a big party its really cool.
oh big sound systems! thats why... i really think big soundsystems sound totally different than small or midsized ones...
man- that big system at soulclipse- after they finally rebuilt the stage and my friend pascal tuned it- it made even infected mushroom with their wanker guitar player sound somewhat tolerable...
i heard this 200kw system once that made radio r&b sound amazing... big systems are good...
but yeah im probably a bit cynical about north america party scene...
sorry- dont mean to piss on anyones parade.
i respect your efforts there in the midwest- actually the midwest is kicking ass! especially compared with the recent decline of the coasts scene...
but i hear breakbeat is doing fantastic in english speaking countries... kinda like minimal electro on the eu continent... the homogenized sound many little groups can agree on...

I see people saying it's very expensive to bring Djs or artists to USA. I just checked and the prices are (summer season = more expensive):
From Copenhagen (Probably the most expensive departure in Europe at the moment)
NYC - Return ticket
U$D 700 (incl. all taxes)
LA - Return ticket
U$D 820 (incl. all taxes)
I don't think it's that expensive compared to flying off to any country in Asia (2-3 times more expensive).

Plenty of psy in America (always room for more though!). These crews-
FractalTribe, Sonic Beating, Sync, Psybotik, YogeyBogeyBox(Desiderata crew), and Green Apples booking major acts every month (sometimes every weekend there is an event) in New York, Providence & Boston
Past acts in 2010 alone have included Ajja, Aphid Moon, Arjuna, Electrypnose, Sensient, Rastaliens, EVP, Transdriver, Neutral Motion & Ekoplex - Just to name a few! Plenty of plans for 2011 too
