how come big Djs like Phanatic, System Nipel, Electro Sun etc. do not tour America? I mean a lot of these artists will come as close as Mexico..but totally skip out on America. do they hate Americans or is it a political problem? is it a business/money issue? ive messaged the artists on Myspace but no one gets back to me. we have plenty of raves but techno does not even compare to the musicianship of good Psytrance. Im gonna start the fxcking Psy revolution in America- cause techno sucks!
so whats the deal?? why is America Psy-Dry??
thanks.

Hey deathsexchaos,

first of all almost every major DJ played in the US one time or another...
BUT the USA has a relatively small psy trance scene and flights there are 3-10 times more than Europe, this means less potential crowed to cover higher expenses = problem.
also for some artists it is very hard to get a Visa and enter the land of opportunities

Cheers

deathsexchaos, as far as Im concerned, living here in Southern California we have an excellent scene. The Mojave Desert parties are full power heavy psychedelia, and we have outdoor psy events in la area with full on music in the day and dark/twilight music in the night, plus lots of full on/twilight psy club events. NY seems to have a lot of events happening at clubs. Oregon has a killer outdoor scene with lots of heavy psychedelia. Arkansas has a scene, Iowa has a scene. Theres a party coming up in the Las Vegas area. San Fransisco has a psy scene as well. There are festivals all summer long in the US (Gemini - North California, World Bridge III- North Carolina). There are parties in Arizona, Rhode Island, Atlanta - Georgia, recently there was an event in Texas. AND GOA GIL is playing in North Carolina next month as well as North California later in the summer. There's a lot of excellent psy artists in US and plenty of international acts are flown down. SO much psy in America man, there are lots of local little scenes everywhere. So the scene here is ON, no psydryness in america my friend.

Not sure if you aware but we have a seperate forum for

North America: http://forum.isratrance.com/forum-north-america/

Think you posted in the wrong forum dude

There's quite a bit of psy in the US... it might not be all about many of the artists that you've mentioned, but there's quite a bit of psychedelic trance coming out of the states.... I'm not sure where you live, but I'm pretty certain that you'll find a good party within 8 hours drive to be vague...

Most times it's very difficult to bring artists to the US for just ONE SHOW! The flights are royally expensive, and as big as the US is geographically, it makes things difficult to do a party without the organizers losing their shirt, or something connected to their body.... to be honest, it's the same for US artist coming to Europe... however, I'm certain that you can get at least 2-3 orgs to agree to bring one artist for a tour, it just depends on financial viability... Most events in the US aside from major shindigs do maybe 200-300 on a nice night, so you need to take that into consideration. There are some artists that ask for more money than an organizer can afford to lose in a night. The thing is that you need to look around and see A.) is there a scene within several hours of your home. B.) what type of music is that crowd into. C) Can the scene afford to bring that artist out that you want to see, and if they cannot.... D.) can you afford to help the organizers bring this artist out?

From my experience here both organizing events and playing at them, most promoters (I'll use US for formality) can't afford an artist that wants 1000 Euro on top of flight and accomodation...

There's been psy in the US for close to 10 years now, it's just really difficult to get it everywhere... but the past year or two has been quite revolutionary in the sense that psychedelic trance is popping up in some places that you wouldn't think that it would be at...           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

I was gonna get abomination to come up to IL from mexico since they're gonna be there in July. Still woulda ran over 1000 euros just for a DJ set.

There's also some issues with passports (russia especially) cause they can be hard to get and cost money.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

More than that, we played in NYC on NYE 1996/7 and Return To The Source did something there before that, if I recall correctly.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

+ 10000000

even though we know is a waste of time as its has been for over two centuries they call themselves AMERICA and doesnt matter where you're born when yo're hispanic/latin cuz' everyone is mexican huh?

now back on topic, i lived for past 5 years in socal and like everyone else mentioned there is and have always been a real psychedelic trance ecene that its been working their way through, now think I got your point though based on this little quote:
"we have plenty of raves but techno does not even compare to the musicianship of good Psytrance" what you might want to see is actually one of those electro daisy carnival or monster massive events hosting for example system nipel on one stage along to peope llike richi hawtin or james holden which dude is not gonna happen unless you pay for that ....
now to please your concerns here is the e mail of Dj Nino from com-pact records he lives in Mexico and he can hook you up with all your questions regarding fool on music.
