General Info
As far a I know BrainForest are just another release group, but unlike other release groups, they release unreleased tracks, and release homemade compilations that they made at home.. You cant call that shit a lable..
According to some artists I've talked to, they are not upset about BrainForest releasing their tracks, because its free publicity.. And if the artist cant keep his tracks off the net, then its his fault!

Well, I think that if the artist gives the track even to 1 person, he should know for sure that theres a risk that the track would be leaked! The more people you gives it to, the more chances it would get leaked!
Will you agree with me if I'll say that if an artist decides not to give his tracks to nobody, then it would be very very rare for someone to get it? Now there are two options:
1. You agree, and you only base my argument, that its only the artist fault to give it to the 1st dude..
2. You disagree, and Im realy sorry you think that way, no offence ofcourse, but try to see it the way I look at it..
Anyhow, the artists shouldnt have give it to someone from the first place, then all of this mass wouldnt happen.. Since this lame BrainForest dont got approval for the tracks, atleast not for the ones I know.. I guess they just get some unreleased metirial and use it to make the compilations..

You know... I can understand about being tight with your music. Personally, my main objective is to get my music heard. Whether it's being released on a label, being played by me or someone else at a party, or by going over to someone's house and letting them listen to it. I really try to get feedback on what I am doing just to see what I can and cannot get away with...
I didn't know that these guys had as many of my tracks as they did, but what's done is done. I can only hope that their actions do not affect me adversely and in the future I'll be as tight lipped as a virgin in a chastity belt about my tracks. On one hand, yes it did grant me some really good exposure, at least 3 out of those 5 of mine are already available on line. The spork remix was never planned on being released (it was an early track).
Overall, the goal is being accomplished, people are listening to my music whether I gave it to them or not, but one of the reasons why I like giving people my music directly is to get feedback and see if people are understanding what I am trying to say. I unfortunately am not able to get the feedback if I don't know who has those particular tracks. But what can ya do?? Be more careful about who you give what to? Yeah, and hope that that person who just might be a really close friend shares the same values of music that you do. Or not give any music out at all except for releases... It's a dilemma that every artist goes through... The best you can do is for every track that gets leaked, write a new one better than that and keep it for yourself to unload whenever you play out...
