man i cant understnad why every artist is remixing every possible commercial tune  (
i just heqard offspring - self esteem remixed into a super mega lame full on version ... 1200 mics remixing iron maiden - fear of the dark theme was already an insult in my opinion but this is even worse... bha!!! arent you all tired of listening such lack of innovation? another horrible remix is the tribalistas - ja sei namorada made by gms... or am i the only one hating such tracks? |

I hate them all by default. I won't call remixes like that "psy"trance, it's just some loops with a bassdrum and bassline added.
But I must admit, when i was 12 I thought it was kinda funny hearing remixes of old 80s tunes, so I guess it's the same thing; the kids love it.

hehe yes minimun 4 or 5 remixes per month lately what the hell is going on?? ok it will be cool to do a rmx to your self like sirius isness did with smooth criminal i never heard it and i think i will never be cause they said that song is just for them , i think for an artist is cool to do a rmx to listen at home what ever is your pc and your ears but do a rmx just because is the new fucking killer thing is kind of lame and release just because is WHAT IS KILLAAA borring......but i have to say that i like a lot 2 remixes The police-owner of a lonely heart(synergy rmx) and Faithless-Insomnia(X-noisermx) at least the last one is a trance old school  |

My statement there remains the same..
When it is about remixing, I think the most important thing is the seed in itself : the original song/track..
I like when this seed learns me something about the remixer life/taste/experience.. Therefore, remixing "hits" is in my opinion something that can sometimes be funny.. But nowadays it just turned indigeste.. Because of the ammount of them. About metal in example, I will say "thumbs up" when a guy will come with an Helmet remix, or Senser, Papa Britle, I dunno what else.. With such bands I have mentionned, I would say "wow the guy knows that : how great !".. And in the case of Dark Soho (Save me God rmx) it is even better because I had never heard any about the original song/band. THIS is interesting ! THIS is meaningful..
But with remixing 'standarts', anthems or name it as you like.. The situation nowadays makes me simply think that many "artists" just don't have that much musical culture.. Which is sad because there is nothing better than wide knowledge to know the direction you wanna take as a musician.. On the other hand, I sometimes come to think that some producers are nothing else than fashion victims.. "Hey he remixed this ?" "I wanna have fun too, let's remix that"...

Cool another Helmet fan - they are my alltime favourite band and ive been wanting to remix them for a longtime but never got round to it...soon i hope! Btw i think most remixes lack creativity, like phobium said just chuck a drumloop and new bassline on top and thats it...and then the track gets played at parties not because its a good track in itself but purely for the novelty factor of "wow how cool and funny, they remiced that track"...lame indeed.
