I recommend James Redfield's
1. The Celestine Prophecy.
2. The Tenth Insight.
3. The Celestine Vision.
4. The Secret to Shambala.
must read these books. These books have changed my vision.
Take care of all your memories. For you cannot relive them. |

Books that come to mind are:
all of Osho's books
Gary Jennings - The Atztec (out of print, check amazon)
Eiji Yoshikawa - Musashi
Alex Garland - The Beach
(never mind the movie, it's crap...)
John Perkins - Confessions Of An Economic Hitman
(pretty drastic, poor USA...)
Khaled Hosseini - The Kite Runner
The most twisted book I ever read is
Poppy Z. Brite - Exquisite Corps
The last one is quite hardcore, disgusting at times but impossible to put down, amazing!
I pretty much like all of Poppy's books...
I definitely would have added
Shantaram, but someone beat me to it
Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

Prozac nation- Elizabeth Wurtzel
A million little pieces- James Frey
Are you Experienced ? - William Sutcliffe
the first two are more like confessional memoirs, the latter is a funny travelogue type
