My favorite book:

1984 by George Orwell

One of the most darker and sinister histories even wrote. It describes how a non-idealistic totalitarian regime would work, based on the only persuit of power which is the real topic of the book.

It also arises the question of the State as a living machine seeking its own survival over time, destroying human life.

George Orwell was a truly socialist and a hard critic of totalitarian regimes. He was born in India son of a police chief. His first work was in the police but he found authority disgusting and run away to UK, where he explored the real harsh times of the working class by taking the worst jobs he could found. Then he become journalist for the socialist party newspapper. He went to cover the Spanish civil war where he formed views on what was hapenning on USSR and the way the Communist and Nazi party worked at the time. He was shot in the neck, and returned to england. There he wrote the highly critic of USSR Animal farm, because of the war the book didnt see the light until the war ended.

He started writing 1984 and in the last year of his life he faal sick of tuberculosis, he died soon after finishing the book, so the much darker atmosphere of it.

I love reading liberal philosophy I highly recomend:

Anarchy, state and utopia by Robert Nozick

The open society and its enemies by karl Popper

The constituion of freedom by fredrick Hayek

On liberty by John Stuart mill

@Login: Animal Farm is an amazingly bitter and humorous book.

^^ Ayn rand is pretty cool when you begin reading, then you realise its always the same story.

I agree with her on many topics, but she is just too materialist.

The book I liked the most from her was Anthem           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

Not sure if it's been said earlier but the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling is a fun read if I want something that'll hold you over for awhile since there's 7 books.

Don't touch this book/Hände weg von dieses Buch - by Jan von Helsing/Jan Udo Holey

This is truly mind boggling stuff, anything from history to spirituality up to conspiracy gets discussed in here.....not for the lighthearted, the title of the book is not for no reason but surely very interesting for those who're not to afraid to dig into unknown weird and sometimes scary territory !
