Aldous Huxley's Brave new world (THE MASTERPIECE) and The island... I also enjoyed capra's hidden connections and mutation point, dunno if that's the original bookname, only own it in portuguese... speaking in portuguese, read machado de assis - memórias póstumas de brás cubas, josé saramago - ensaio sobre a cegueira, and gabriel garcia marquez - cem anos de solidão (original in spanish).

any book by tom robbins should do the job nicely!
