I know this topic of mine got nothing to do with the psytrance community or psy music. But then somehow I am influenced by this legend and his music. It all started with this...

Recently, my trip to Kingston Jamaica to Bob Marley home now converted as a Musuem has left a deep impact on me. The man was so simple in living and truly hippie by heart.

His music did create a stir in all society. In one of his Milan - Italy concert there
was a gathering of 1,80,000 people. All mesmerised and in a trance state.

Bob Marley a man with a vision ahead of times.

Pictures showed his gig was truly a trance dance experience. It all started with them. Evolution and Revolution of music.

He was one of the icon to put Reggae on global charts. Get Third World issues in limelight. Above all get people from all races and religion together. ONE LOVE.

Even today Rastafarian music is remixed by known artist and producers throughout the globe. In every music scene.

This is more interesting till date the officials have restored the 'herb' plants in his backyard. Could not take pictures as they do not allow. However, got a exclusive Cd of his interview from the past.

*Some way or the other even essence of psyculture is the same. PLUR. Psygenre does share same values. It does has Bob Marley influence...          Wake Up and Live...

It's good to see that Jamaica is finally cashing on their best legacy I heard about this tour too recently, hope to get there someday.

Agree with most of what you said, he believed more in the shamanic culture of music, made so many people reconcile to their oppression with the power of his words. Much respect to him...

You can draw similarities between: Psy - Bob Marley - Pink Floyd......

Bob and Pink Floyd both great musicians..

Bobs someone who wrote his music more on a Revolutionary based concepts (Get Up Stand Up) and we can say from his lyrics dat he was trying to send a message across to everyone dat how important PEACE was and everyone should give it a chance...

yeah he truly is a legend......

but psytrance being related to bob.......now idk bout dat...

Rastafari is a religion and idk how it can be related to our BPM SCENE......

Old pirates, yes, they rob i;
Sold I to the merchant ships,
Minutes after they took i
From the bottomless pit.
But my hand was made strong
By the and of the almighty.
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly.
Wont you help to sing
These songs of freedom? -
cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look? ooh!
Some say its just a part of it:
Weve got to fulfil de book.

Wont you help to sing
These songs of freedom? -
cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.
