Blue Vortex just released their album mirage on Y.S.E. Rec.

My review of this:

It's a meldic Trip trough psychedelic Landscapes.

-It starts with "Mirage" a real morning tune. Melodic, powerfull and a nice break after 4 min.

-The second track Arda is more stronger. Fat melodie after 4.30 min. very powerfull...

-Track No. 3 is again for morning... warm and nice atmosphere, nice voicesample, good melodie at the end.

-the fourth track is my favourite. a real morning blaster. It reminds me on Yahel.
Very fat beat and baseline and a big melodie at the end.

-track 5 is more calm. its a track for 1200 o clock on a outdoor party

-The sixth is deep more for the night. More clubby. Very nice break at the middle of the track.

-Trancelucid Horizon is the seventh track and this is a killer again. Powerfull beat and baseline, and a killer melodie at the end

-the last dancetrack niemlies snowparty is more calm again. but a nice one aswell.

and the last is chill out/down beat. very nice tune. Spaced and real twisted

All in all a real colourfull album that makes you dream. It has different styles in it. For all full on melodic listeners a must

The track list:

1. Mirage
2. Arda
3. Twister
4. Sismic Amplifier
5. Primal objectivs
6. Frozen waters
7. Trancelucid Horizon
8. Nimlies Snowparty
9. Tree of life

Hi there Trolly. I haven't got the album, but I'm thinking of buying it after hearing the soundbytes on psyshop. It really sounds great in my ears. Melodic like I wanna hear it.. Old style Yahel almost. Not bad at all! So, I'll post some more on this after buying it, which will be in july (probably)

Anyway, you said it right: A colourful album.

I must say that I had the cd for a while but never got the chanche to hear it.. so I brought soem new albums with me when i went to greece for a festival... When Me and some friends ( among them a birthday boy who was taking us to Great halkidiki for dinner and baffos) went to the half island outside Salonika, we finnally get a chanche to hear it in the car going a 160 Km per hour, surfing the ultra sonic super highway to the paradise beach and MAN, This album I realized was rocking. Its not those kinds of tracks that is taking it all the way of entering "full on" trance.. No they stay with in the thin line of melodic progressive full on heheh ( havent you heard progressive full on? haha) and they do it great. the harmonies and the melodies totally reveals some serious soft guys here... I bet they have red hearts on the walls in the studio and somehow i also believe that they have some serious Swizz "shit" in their Bong-os...
Man... im serious here.. its a fucking nice album for the beach and for getting some pus... em some girls attention..=)
If the girls dance.. the boys dance to!! More music for the girls YE HAA!
Love from Anders - Andromeda and chromosome!

Definatley one of the most underestimated albums of 2004. This has a lot of nice melodies in it, if you don't listen to it, you're actually missing something. I've heard some people claim it sounded much like older albums by Yahel. Well, it kinda does and doesn't. You see, psy artists are in a very hard position: if they put in some melodies then people praise them and say that they've "added the oldschool touch". However if they put in too MUCH melodies then people criticize them for being too cheezy... Well Blue Vortex is kinof in between. Sometimes I thin "man this is REALLY good, great melodie!!", other times I'd think "he's overdone it, too many cheezy melodies". So I guess it's up to you to find out if this is of your liking or not. Anyway, if you like melodies in your tracks then this one's for you. Kindof reminds me the Space Cat album and also S-Range stuff.

fave tracks: 1, 5 (!!), 6 (!!), 8

Conclusion VERY underestimated album! Very nice melodies reminding oldschool, but sometimes it can get a little too cheezy... Still, if you liked the new Space Cat and the S-Range style, you'll like this one too. Guess only time will tell if this will remain a memorable 04 album or not. 8/10

i just decide to buy it this afternoon, & i already like it a lot.

It's a an interesting fresh morning-goa sound all along the album which is delivered , i estimate Mirage to better than the refraction's album from Protoculture.

It's nice to see more & more good productions comming from swiss artists, after cheeses , morning trance is on the verge to become the new speciality of Swiss
