Way to go Yuli. I know this was probably a hard decision, but I think you showed more character than a lot of artists that have become wannabe cash whores, and when I say a lot, I mean over 90% of the artists.
It's a shame that international promoters prefer bringing shit Israeli full-on acts that sound exactly the same as all the others to play for them rather than one of the best live acts that ever came out in Israel. Keep on doing your own thing, good luck with your new path in life.

Hi Yuli,
Just to give you a completely different perspective on things...
I organize progressive parties in Japan, and after I heard a very good 12" by you on Iboga last year, yours was a name that came up. But I heard other tracks and then I heard your latest album, and for me the sound was actually TOO full-on, and not as deep as other iboga acts like Antix or Phony Orphants. in israel, that might sound "progressive", but to me and to dj's who play mostly progressive house (i.e. most progressive trance dj's), it actually sounds "full-on". So one problem might be that you are in the middle: not progressive enough for a european progressive-head, and not full-on enough for the younger crowd. Since plane tickets are so expensive, I think organizers are looking for a very particular sound when they make an international booking.
If you wanted to give it another shot, my advice would be:
1) make a new artist name for a new progressive project
2) if you're really interested in deepers sounds, then go REALLY deep and progressive and much slower
3) release an album on a top progressive label like iboga (i've heard of trance.shop before) that promotes their artists well and secures lots of bookings
4) still not expect to get enough gigs to earn a living. ie, get a day job. but hopefully the gigs that you do get would be special and make things worthwhile.
best of luck, |

russ: after 4-5 hours of progressive (or full-on, it doesn't matter), Yuli's live act is probably one of the best ways to get a crowd going wild, full-on lovers and progressive heads alike. It's sad that only organizers in Israel know this.

it's not full on at all
not even close to it.
how can u say it's full on?
maybe the progressive u hear is too minimal..
blt's tracks are rich in many sounds, but it's FAR AWAY from being full on.
u can find "Anything U Want" using the search... |

Yo.
It warms my heart to see these replies and I thank all of you once more for the good words and the ideas u came up with.
The last thing I want tho, is this thread to become bashing of Full on vs. Prog since in my music, the idea was to put them together and make all unite ( that is my vision of a perfect trance floor ). Apparently it didn't work which is a little sad but nothing more than that.
My real aim with this was to say fairwell as BLT in a decent way to those that might ask in one year from now where this guy has gone? I believe that artist makes contact with ppl that like his music and one of his responsibilities is to say bye when he is gone bushwalking
I will be back some time with different tunes and different name ( musicians cant stop making something that is for sure ) and meanwhile there are enough BLT remixes for the following year,
So enjoy

I agree with that. Time has changed, the scene is very very different, and unfortunately, the people too.
Good luck to your future Yuli. |
