As far as i understood, bitwig is a DAW wich runs vst plugins separatly from the app meaning that its good for prevent crashing the whole app when a plugin have a faillure, but this also introduces other type of problems that may happen when your using too much plugins...
for people who is normaly get used to bridging plugins, like x86 on x64 DAW´s or x64 plugins on x86 daw´s, sometimes there are glitches with saving, even clock timing issues, or slow down´s...
while bridging may be a smart solution on exceptional cases, i am not totaly convinced that briding all the plugins or running them separatly its the solution in terms of stability and performance...
specialy with so much offer and variety of vst´s out there, with many types of archictecture and types of code...
i bet they are delaying the release, because they are suffering a lot from stability, they might have tools to prevent lose the work, but having a DAW wich constantly having errors or glitches isnt good also...
some daw´s have internal briding options like FL and Reaper, others for some reason drop that idea, and by my own experience with FL and reaper, avoiding bridge on large scale projects may prevent problems |
