Argh. 12 hours one-way to the worst festival *ever* - Source of Laughs out in eastern Quebec. What a joke that was...

From Cali, Colombia to Mexico City, Mexico. Have no idea how far that is but it took quite a while since I hitch-hiked most of the way except for the Darien Gap, which is a seriously bad area to go to unless you have a deathwish ;-)
Colombia -> Panama -> Costa Rica -> Nicaragua -> Honduras -> El Salvador -> Guatemala -> Mexico
Turned out in the end that the trip was way more fun than the festival itself. Hehe

the journeyman project -
conditions were hardcore at the Outback Eclipse!
deathly heat, violent wind, and 4 cm layer of dust in my tent at all times. I met a Byron Bay nutcase who was smoking DMT and babbling in his tent all day..and when he wandered out for a walk...a dust tornado ripped up his tent and blew it 500m away.
my longest travel:
i hitchiked 3 days, and two nights from southern Japan to Mt. Fuji in shizuoka, for the Solstice 2000 festival.
I slept in the 'woods' behind freeway service areas, lived on lollipops and energy drinks.. and caught a few dozen rides with NICE businessmen, charter busses, truck drivers, families , surfers and punks.
my best party and travel experience EVER!

From Rio de Janeiro to Alto Paraíso for Trancendence 2003 by rented bus, smoking and meeting people on the way... 20 hours - 1000km (estimate)
From Berlin to somewhere around Gdansk, Poland... By train (fucked up train I tell you) to a 'day out of time' festival organized by a friend... 8 hours - 500 km (estimate)
From Amsterdam to Berlin by train and then to Antaris Festival 2004 by car. 7 hours - 550km |

Longest by car? Not so long - maybe 400-500 miles (700-800 km).
But on planes is a different story. Twice from Texas to New York for parties. I've also flown twice from Texas to San Francisco for parties - the second time to SF (Fusion festival 2001) was probably the most adventurous of all the trips. 3-4 hours on the plane, a few hours of sleep, then a 3-5 hour drive in a rented car into the mountains (including a hellish hour drive up the mountain on some rather treacherous windy roads in the dark).
Good times.
