Govinda are actually from Austin, TX where I live. Heck, they played at a coffeehouse up the street a while back..I really enjoy their music.

Can't say I've ever heard of Kalpataru Tree though.

Good to see Govinda get props. All I've heard that have been listed so far are great, haven't heard morphonic, magic sound fabric, or kalpataru tree yet.

The only artist that comes to mind at the moment to be added is nagual sound experiment, currently based in la, I believe. He had one track released on soul vibration, and another on the upcoming organic downtempo comp. Really creative stuff, seems to deviate a little from typical musical time signatures and structure.

I also think there's a whole slew of us producers of pure ambient soundscapes. Good ol Stars of the Lid were from austin.

To add to this list- Alpha Channel/D Space (Connecticut/SanFrancisco) who has released on Psybooty and Soular records. Recently I heard a few chillout tracks from him that were great           ~gOa ist nicht nur musik sondern auch eine lebenseinstellung~

So many and all soooo good!!!! Unfair to rank them, but I must say Phuture´s Primitive album "Subconscious" is very special.

offtopic-one of them went on to make music as The Dead Texan, based in Holland I believe. Sounds different from sotl, but you can hear the connection. Strongly recommended by me!
