right answer:
why the hell do you want to buy a nl2x if you got the nl2 already? if you're a clavia freak who wants to collect them all then i get it but otherwise... there's no point at all.

I sold my Virus after realizing that I could get all it's sounds with good soft synths.
Virus and Nord Leads are software in a box.Same thing as using VSTi's. I enjoy much more the sound of U-he ACE, Zebra and Diva. There's nothing they can't do.
They cover all my digital needs.

You forgot to mention that its nearly impossible to run Diva on a 'normal' system.
Let alone running 4 to 8 instances of Diva, forget about it!
I much prefer to use my Nord, gives me all controls right in front of my nose and it sounds excellent. |

You are correct, a powerful computer is needed, but I'd rather invest in a computer than in a synth (if I wan't digital stuff)
In the computer you can have several synths.
But I've gotta tell you that all my money is being invested to expand my modular system, the only digital thing is the FX section. |

this may sound strange to some, but i have owned or had many many synths from classics to modern from analog to digital, and while many are awesome if i had to chose one and only one it would still be my yamaha an1x. such musical filters and a sweet sweet sound. not the fatest, not the biggest, not the sexiest, but its an amazing machine.
not saying its the best ever or anything like that, just saying its a jewel often forgotten these days.
and to those that say vst sounds as good as hw, what can i say, check your ears. the discodsp can only wish it was a nord, and the v-station is like the retarted brother of the k-station. no comparison at all. arturia sounds like a moog voyager?

Just finish reading a book about the "Season's of the years influence's on the human being thought/Behavior" .
No .. Nord is not the best ever (Sorry to 'Spoil' you) , And sure theres better
But as other's already mention - This is all about what you want to get , Not more .
The best is a combo of 12-15-20 Good vsts running together in a track .
This is a real harmony , Can't base only on Nord , Sure not enough .

but for the sake of evolving and the art in music one ought to use anythin that comes to mind...especially things that dont come to mind
