Best PSY city in OZ ???

Hey OZZIES !!!
Since i am thinking of doing my masters in australia , could u please let me know which is the best city to study in. (psy scene wise  ) .
I know my priority should be academics  So hav shortlisted(academics wise) sydney, melbourne and others which are not too baad . so if i cud get some info on which city is closest to all the action it would be really helpful for me is shorlisting further This is my college life and i dnt wann ruin it .... so plzz do help out .

I think if it's all about psy - Melbourne is definitely the place. It has by far the most large parties. Last Saturday for example there was an Outdoor event, Reefer Decree in a club, and Psycraft in a club just on the Saturday night), Psysex is coming up this Friday:)
But if you are also considering lifestyle then up north is fantastic - Cairns and from Brisbane to North NSW(including Byron) have great scenes and much much better weather than Melbourne.
I am from Melbourne, but if I didn't have so many roots here I would be up there in a flash.

hiya....just happened to be checking this section since i will shortly be leaving for melbourne and it's just sooo good to hear that the psy scene is up and kicking down under!! not that it's gonna be a priority what with all the house hunting and generally settling in but it's always nice to know ur not alone!! boom to all in ozzy-land!!....and if there's anyone on this forum in the RMIT campus area (city campus) i would love to connect......do feel free to pm.......
can't wait to get there!! have heard only good things about melbourne.....

melbourne is great for a big scene, thats for sure... cant be touched as far as number of acts, etc... but i do think Cairns has a special place in the community at the moment, the underground, more grassroots parties are absolutely cutting siick at the moment, and we have a good regular party schedule featuring plenty of national and international standard acts... Not trying to jip melbournes crown at all, but there are other places that offer equally good places to party

I came down from nsw nth coast 2 years ago to
Sydney and have fallen head over heels in love
with this little scene. It is intimate and
friendly and the nrg at a lot of parties is
awesome.

i definately dont agree that Melbourne should be pigeoned-holed as "best scene in Aus"... sure they get the acts and have the big parties, but ive been to some pretty amazing parties around the rest of this country too
