I love how 3D Vision release the 3D story compilations every few years. I have always wondered why some of the older labels such as phonokol, hommega etc. don;t do something similar? The 10 years of trance was great, but an unimixed version for dj's etc. would have been so much better... guess there to busy pushing the neo NRG style full on to care about those who enjoyed the past...

Check out some of the Yellow Sunshine Explosion compilations like: Classic Goa Trance Book 1,2,3 or History of Goa. YSE keeps getting dissed by a lot of people here, but if you've been out of the scene or you just want some good full-on/progressive tracks you can always look to their compilations for some good stuff.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. because YSE is trying to pick up different underground-djs (which are often very very good) and international-djs to compile a cd for YSE. this goa-compis are direct from the roots, thats way there are very good imo. but if the people just look on the name and start to diss it, because of the name and so called "commercial structure" they dont want to know maybe...

You're right Mantik. The compilations from YSE keep getting dissed by people mainly because of the naming of the compilations or their covers: Neo Full On, Goa Trance, Goa 2005 (there was a cover debate about that one), Goa Sound System etc. People think the name Goa shouldn't be used anymore. I don't care what YSE names their compilations, or what covers they have. It's about the music inside. I'm one of those people who don't have a lot of money to buy cd's regularly, so I tend to buy a lot of cd's in one run (after a tax refund mostly) and the YSE compilations really fit in the gap I've experienced in (particulary) the full-on scene. So, I say: YSE ... GO!           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

Agree about the YSE compilations. Shitty commercial, misleading names ('Classic Goa'??? - most of it isn't 'Goa' - and how classic can tracks be if they were only released that year?) - but very good comps! Just because they are marketed at people new to the scene doesn't mean they are bad.

Throw away the cover and enjoy the music and always listen to what you like - not what you are told to like.

Peace and stuff.           Am i the only one who believes in solipsism?

I'm glad to see one of the pioneers of the progressive sound, Spiral Trax, releasing some of their old material on double compilations.

Hopefully more labels will do this. Especially in the house-scene.          DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase
