I don't relate to it!
But that doesn't mean I don't like it...
Saw the movie yesterday.
Besides The Joker and the action scenes, I was expecting more from it.
Too long for a Batman movie imho.

Only on The Joker caracter, imo!
And of course the action scenes are way better cause of the advances on Special Effects.

Oh my god all the kids voted this one as the best movie ever on IMDB.
They shouldnt allow anyone above 25 voting for movies.

When it comes to the Top 250 movies only regular voters votes are taken into consideration according to IMDB.
On the link i provided you can see the statistics who voted and what.
Pay extra attention to the 1000 top voters average which is around 8.
This joke reminds me of the Barman Begins movie for which every american kid said great words but its nothing but an average action movie,i just hope that Dark Knight will slowly fall down the ratings like Batman Begins also did.

Did you watch it? Did you take into consideration something that is called personal taste? In my top 250 there won't be Godfather and LOTR cause they bored me to tears. But I'm in the minority, yet I don't bitch about it cause I have my own, different taste. I also fell asleep on No Country for Old Men and on Into the Wild. Yet those movies were a huge critical success.

As for "LOTR", sure, I agree with you.
"Into The Wild" might be an exausting movie to see, cause it's too long and emotional.
Probably you fell asleep cause you're too tired to watch it. Cause it's a great movie. I suggest you give it a try again someday.
"No Country For Old Men": 1st time I saw, I really liked. The 2nd one, a bit less.
On the 3rd one, I was counting the scenes hoping that the 2hs would pass shortly. And lots of people compare it to "Fargo"! (The hack do ya mean??) 
But "The Godfather"... c'mon Pavel.
You HAVE to watch it again.

Watched it last night and i seriously can't get what the fuss is all about...what extraordinary qualities does this movie have to get these rave critics and a 9.5 score @ imdb... i almost fell asleep a while after the second half begun - it all became so messy - like they wanted to fill more and more stuff in it, i lost interest completely after a while...
Extra-overrated!! (imho always)

Pavel if you didnt like The Godfather and No Country For All Men then i guess you are one of the people who likes fast action Hollywood movies therefore you liked The Dark Knight and probably you enjoyed all the trash that comes from USA including Spiderman,Batman,X Men,Hulk and their friends.
I understand that some people cant handle slow paced movies because they are required not only to watch them but also to think while watching them and interpret what they see and some people find it difficult to focus and do exactly that.Nothing to think about or interpret in a Batman movie and maybe thats why you liked it because you prefer "easy watching fast paced" movies which ofcourse is not a bad thing but in my humble opinion this is low rate cinema for the masses and immediate consumption.
Personal taste is ofcourse personal taste but a Batman movie as the best movie of all times?Kubrick,Hitchcock and Kurosawa must be spinning in their graves at the moment.
The Dark Knight owes 90% of its success to the death of Heath Ledger and to the fact that all the American kids and Ledger fans voted for it on IMDB,i hope and i am actually preety sure about it that in a year from now noone will remember this joke.
I mean lets get serious out of 105000 votes 80000 voted this with a solid perfect 10?And 80000 out of total votes are all in the age group 18-29?
As Henrik Ibsen once said,"majority is never right" and in this case this quote applies 100%.
They should ban american kids from voting in IMDB.
P.S Unfortunately i watched it cause i saw the IMDB rating and was wondering why everyone rated this with solid 10. Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!! |

I heard a statement from Aaron Eckhart mentioning that Ledger is one of the most talented actors he had ever worked before.
He said that Ledger has an incredible power to become the caracter.
He's gonna get one of those Special Awards Oscar next year, for sure!
All-in-one: He's the only good thing on the movie.
And the action scenes are pretty good also. |
