If you look at the development of goa/psy you will see that there is this continuous cycle between really full-on tracks which tend to focus on the midrange stuff and really throw the kitchen sink at you (sonically speaking) and then tracks which move away from this and strip it down to the essentials: kick, bass, drums. As one becomes boring so the cycle switches back the other way.

But: all the classic/timeless tracks show a very fine balance between all their parts.

Still, I'm a sucker for a good bassline m'self...

The bass and the drums could be considered as the heart of every music genre, they act as a pilar around which all kinds of details can be added, guitar rythms and solos when it comes to rock, jazz...etc and the synth lines when it comes to electronic music. The drums connot IMO be dissociated from the bass and vice versa... The only musical genre where this rule is not necessarily true is experimental/impro/free jazz music.

i think a bass is indispensable to any piece of music. The bass line is the soul of the track,if i may say so...it gives the piece a sense of direction, and helps maintain the balance between the other elements...a fairly rigid kick, and a higher end that flies all over the place(epecially in psy trance).About its increased use in psy...i am thrilled that it has finally happened...it opens up a whole new facet...and thats the beauty of psychedelic...there are no limits, there is no formula...so many facets to look through...sooo many to add...so many to twist, your creativity, to the brink...

IMO , bassline is created to fill the low frequencies of the whole track and complete a full color experience in the spectrum of sound...

when the artist do it well...one of the most important steps are done.

bassline is one of the bases of the track and it should be done with a lot of patience and emotion.           ..:: Let the MUSIC guide u in a world of COLOR ::..

In my opinion the high notes are nothing without the low notes, and vice-versa.
It´s the constant harmonic interaction between these pitches that put music together and make it enjoyable.
It´s the dualism of life. Music is math
Math is art art is beautiful.

man, what u asking here is maybe deep then what u thought, i guess its the progressive/techno/psytrance most sagnificent signature that i can see so far

in the past most psytrance was with lots of leads, sounds, acid lines, samples and so on what we call here balabalot, meaning humbles, today people want to get track in long mixes and so on to do sth with them that will sound unique, so the tracks themself got to be cleaner from the bullshit, so that y u need them to be less buisy, and ithink also people maybe gets less tired from this buisy sound, they gets much effect as the tracks goes stronger then when the track gets too buisy
