lately, in all the tracks that i hear (especially from fullon artists)

the bassline controls the track, without the bassline, the track worth nothing.

in the past, the whole sounds were kinda equal and all of them were "controlling the track" for example the hallucinogen tracks, the astral tracks, blt - presence album, and i can give more..
the hallucinogen tracks focused more on the acid line...

why is it like that?           u can find "Anything U Want" using the search...

White Stripes make great music without a single Bass Guitar.
But that's offtopic           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Anakoluth: Tell that to people that make IDM, classical music and other styles that try to work on the brain.

The bassline is 90% dancefloor, 10% split between music, and more dancefloor. Psytrance today is getting closer and closer to 100% dancefloor music.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

Aphex Twin has many tracks in which he uses no bassline. His music is awesome. Good example?           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

heh ... Gavriel ... u r asking why smth that is not full on music is different from full on music it's full on structure that's all ... Hallucinogen's music don't have boundaries
bass has more then 10% imho .. intelegent bass adds groove and has a great impact on psychadelic values ... for full on music - ofcourse if no bass there is a fuck ...           Dance is my Trance

it's all about the style, if most of the accent is about groove and pupming beats, the bassline controls (GMS, etc.).
if the main task is giving you goosebumps, the lead lines are most bold (Mfg, Astral, and other goa gigs.)
in total mayhem , noise and hell itself, ask midimiliz, synthtic, spirilianz and etc...
especially midimilz...

in this case : Full on speaks to the feet ---> mucho grooveo ----> mucho bassline and el kickio rocks...

beat and bassline are the energy of the track treble sounds are the spirtual part.

although many types of music (including a lot of EDM) do not necessarily rely on a bassline, in psytrance it is virtually indispensable... along with a prominent kick on every quarter note (unless you are talking about psychedelic breakbeat, but that is a different story altogether...). the bassline is like the foundation of a house... it is what the rest of the parts (including the melody) are built upon. a psytrance track without a bassline is like a tree without roots...

great topic, btw..
