I really don't know, from reading this thread for quite a while the picture that comes to mind is that most of U ppl don't really enjoy the parties you go to.
And why? there are all kind'sa reasons: bad music, bad ppl (?), bad karma (police), or simply bad drugs (the only good reason for a bad party imo, explanation to come).
So, if u've been 'hurt' so many times, why do u keep wasting you money/time/strength on going to parties and getting dissapointed again and again?

I dunno, but the only 2 parties that sucked were because of too much acid.

consider this: you got ready the whole evening (and sometimes more than that), left your house, payed for gas, dope+extras (cummon, dont lie), entrance, water; spent 5-10 hours 'stuck' in a place (usualy nature) - SO WHY NOT SIMPLY ENJOY YOURSELVES? I mean, you're there anyway...there's still nature around, right? a good Chai cup and a chilum...

a small advice (that worked for me@least): when going to a party - don't go because of the trance thing - go to spend time in nature, and consider the party as an extra. this way you will only profit if the party works, and if not - you still had a good chill in the nature.

well to answer your question, is there anything else to do on friday nights besides of parties? :)
sitting in a cafe? watching a movie? all the usual stuff is just boring!

as for myself I always try to take the best of the party.. even when the worse can happen.. still if there's good music i'm just smiling and dancing :)

here's my approach on things: when i go to a party, ANY party, i come without ANY Expectations whatsoever. that way, im never dissapointed. i mean, sure, there's allways the Bummer factor (or Bassa Factor for the israeli audience), and u can't avoid that. but if you go to a party, especially if you paid a fuckload to get there and get in, than why should u expect anything? cause u paid? No. u should go to a party holding no hopes - if it's a good party - great. if it sux? than at least u won't spend all your time and energy complaining how it sucked, since you didnt expect anything, actually. this goes without saying, there's allways the inevidable, but lets take Shanti's party in ashdod for example - the reason i wasnt bummed out was cause i was chilling with some of Isratrance's finest, and we had fun and we laughed and joked about it.

Well tal and Jason I'm sorry but Ive been to many bad parties in my life.
I have quite high music standarts, and if the DJ's that play don't stand up to those standarts then I'm disappointed. Well, I belive that unless a DJ can really play (And you all probably allready know my opinions on DJ crafts and music) they have NO buisness in the DJ booth, I don't care if they organised the party, have a good croud draw reputation or whatever. (And it doesn't has to be minimal, I can enjoy a good full on set as well, as long as it's really good!!!).
Also to many amateur organisers that are only thinking about money they can make out of parties. PEOPLE DO YOUR CALCULATIONS WITH THE IDEA THAT YOU SHOULD ONLY COVER YOUR EXPENSES AND MAYBEE MAKE A LITTLE MORE FOR THE TROUBLE. DON'T TRY TO GET RICH FROM PARTIES. WE ARE UNDERGROUND TRANCERS NOT CLUB OPERATORS!!!

Well, I go for parties because the music has energy that moves me. I go to parties to forget all of the day to day troubles and worries, and to visit a different world.

At parties, the DJ is my lighthouse to the shores of a different place, and through the music I reach it.

BUT, after paying money for gas (and extras when available), entrance (I bring the drinks from home), going all the way to the party (which usually isn't that close to haifa), just to see really bad faces all around me...

The problem is that I look at trance music at a party as a music which gets me into a trance. In order to get there, I need to let the music be my world, and bad faces or bad mixing or whatever just harms the experience.

Then again, if I don't like what's going on, I just find a good spot with some good friends, and have a nice time over there, until I'm ready to give the party another shot. People get annoyed, because it gets harder and harder to get to that same place you try to be in every party, because each time you want the experience stronger, bigger, and longer.

If for one second people would look around, and say to themselves "hey, this party is not the best, but it's still good", we'd have a lot less angry party people around :)

for moi most trance parys are weird since i am not a trance fan.
people if u lower your Expectations before party (i do that i expect every trance party i attend to be crappy, and i know the blues will come too). than it only means that your standards are very very low.
i have to agree with borris many times i was just so out of my self i couldn`t care about music but when i care about that i can only name 3 or 4 people who i really enjoyed to listen.
i have my own standards i think a dj should learn before entering the booth.
anyway boris if what u say is true than  i guess that the u can count on one finger the real good partys u have been to.

I'm not saying "lower your expectations", I'm saying "don't expect every party to set the new standard for good", which is what most people do, and that thought blocks people from really getting into the party atmosphere.

And if a DJ is bad, I just won't dance and wait for the next one, doing anything else is a mistake IMO :)

you know people i don't think that we should compromize, why should we get hurt because of amateur or greedy organizators ?
i do try to take the best from each party, but i won't let some money hugry asshole to take advantage of me and i hope more of party people will think like this, we can put those so called organizators out of business, and i think that we should do that too .
about bad crowds and bad dj's it's a whole different story .
