Just read a very interesting interview with those guys on "Sound On Sound" magazine and i'd like to hear your recommendation on what albums to check by those guys.
Their style of work sounds really intriguing.

I think most of their diehard fans seem to prefer the earlier stuff. I recommend you check out "Incunabula" or "Chiastic Slide"           new Hadal Drop album on the way

if you don't have the last one get in touch

Amber and Tri Repetae++ are their other early works. Amber is interesting because it is their most ambient and chilled album. later works go extremely bizarre and nonlinear.

Incunabula is realy outstanding work. In my opinion it is one of the very best idm and I always have it nearby in my WinAmp playlists side by side with Kid Loco's Calling Adventura King and Amon Tobin's Bricolage.

although its contentious to make such statements i think lp5 is autechre's best album, and i also think a lot of diehard autechre fans would agree with me (i don't consider myself one of those). a close runner up is tri repetae++ (the plus plus means a double album containing some earlier eps on the second disc- without the plus plus its just one disk and not nearly so good)

lp5 and to a lesser extent tri repetae (particularly disc 2) has beautiful melodies like a lot of their earlier works (incunabula and amber) but it has that harder crazy edge of their later stuff. having said that, you can tap your foot to most of the tracks, which is something you can't do to confield or ep7.

i stumbled on to peel sessions 1 a little while ago. what a fabulous ep! the final track drane is a masterpiece.
