u have to agree with the laws in the country you are...
drugs are illegal here and this is it... when they'll be legal we can all stone ourselves to death...
and big drug dealers WERE arrested in Samothraki... not only people who had one joint with them... although i doubt there was anyone who had only one joint...

termporarely disregarding the drug issue, what bothers me most about this story is that you can actually buy your way out of the hands of the greek policeforce, i heard simular stories about gaining acces to the ferries on the busiest days last year, whilst people with prepayed tickets couldn't get on the boat cause they didn't (know they could) bribe the police.
It's a shame the policeforce exploits the visitors this way!!!! from my point of view, it's all about making money. but when you get arrested for such reason, you always choose the easiest way out of it (in this case paying the police).

I'm so sad to hear those news, it is the first samothraki that I miss since the beginning of this event. Guess i'm glad i didn't come this year.

friends of mine payed 120 euro's with the alternative of 10 days imprisonment.

got back from the festival ...
was real nice all in all , police wise , i only saw them twice , once arresting a young
boy that was just triping and scared
second when they took the thief that stole
my wallet ( empty almost ) .
next year no samo after what the police did there the org. says he wont do it there ...
