ATTENTION for those going to Samothraki Festival!

Hi there people.
The festival has started as you all know but the police raids have started again like last year.
I was watching tv and the news said that until now 52 people have been arrested (thats an official number) and police searches go around at all the ports connecting to Samothraki.Their is even a thought by greek police that some teams will move at the island to proceed to searches even at the party area.
And thats only day 1 of the festival....
PLEASE if you carry any illegal substances get rid of them for the good of yourself and the festival and just go at Samothraki to enjoy the nature and the music cause after all that is what is all about.
Have a nice and safe trip back everyone.

There WAS a though about getting into the festival... they did and they busted 40 ppl.... News showed it last nite...

That was in yesterday's news. Most of the arrests happened in Alexandroupoli.

letīs start to make more unknow parties to the police...they see something good and they will kill it 4 u!they are afraid that we discover things that they donīt understand and have afraid to go in...
letīs make our thing a little less commercial, and 4 me this will harm the picture of the festival...donīt they have anything else to do?like work?and donīt mess with us!

my friends, u donīt have to be a drug addict or a drug dealer, to b busted.
4 example, u have in your possesion a small dose of anything, if u will be caught with that illegal substance, no matter wich dose is u will be behind bars.
consuming drugs is a part of the psychedelic expirience, and in my point of view if they are consorned with the drug subject why donīt they go bust the REAL DEALERS, the ones who import major drugs to your country?
the police acting this way is like putting a net on the water and the fish who are having fun are busted on the net, but the ones who are old stay on the bottom of the lake...
busting hippies or freaks or trance addicts is not the solution 4 the drug problem...(cops drug problem).

Just got back from the festival - and very good it was too - but the heavy handed police operation ruined it for many - not just those who were arrested - 200 by the end of the festival - most for just being unlucky enough to get caught with a spliff... |

well i don't wanted to get to much OFF-Topic but, as the thread is about "warnings" for ppl that went to samothraki i will continue...
sorry my friend a3k but i totally disagree with your ideas...
if i'm carring a big or small quantitie of illegal substance i am a drug dealer or a drug addicted, sumarizing.. an OUT-LAW... so nothing more fair that being arrested by carring this substances...as i said Police was doing their jobs... and you may not no, but yes, there are BIG international drugdeallers on festivals ( marihuana, cocain, ecstasy, LSD), not only a bunch of hippies or freaks tripping on acid... so i think you got the wrong point man... i'm not making an apology against drugs... i think that ppl are free to choose using it or not BUT as i'm not the government and drugs are not legal, the System is doing their part... live with that...

or you can simply be a drug user. i think that thing John mentioned of ruining people's fun just cause they were smoking a joint it's total bull****.

yes lucas i understand your point of view, but see this is not a thing like house or etc..., but an underground movement and thix sort of things happen wether u like it or not, there will always be like thix, but tell me, do u drink alcohol?do u know the difference between drugs and alcohol?is that alcohol is consumed every day?itīs a good profit to the government, wether if it killīs or not(like cigaretts), see if the government got a few bucks itīs ok, but if they canīt put their hands on it, then itīs not legal, always been, and always will b thix way.
thats why drugs arenīt legal...see netherlands...
and the people who consume drugs or have drugs are not outlaw, see the news and the healing properties of some drugs...
