Ok Ok Ok......Mexico has a bad reputation about party promoters and i have to say yes!! they are a bounch of assholes,but not all....i went to this party i find it kind of strange about astrix to came like this with 6 bodyguards cause i saw him 6 months ago in a party here in mexico and he played awesome and after he played he went for a walk to the forest to chat with the people...so i hope the n'sync guy dont loos the ground cause he dont need too, maybe it was a bad day for him that day....but eey who nows life is strange i have seen a lot of artists on their worst times jeje here in mexico  ....it's all about the background.. for example...cosmosis here in mexico on may big party on acapulco the sound goes off and he just start to apologize with the people on the dance floor, the sound comes back and he goes down to dance with everybody  a big artist and a great person i wish everybody where like this!! but sometimes all of us have verybad days see yaaa |

So dude i think Astrix is not totaly wrong here, an artist needs to know that its safe where he has to play, but the conditions should be setup before the booking, and not just before he gets on stage.

hey dust dont get me wrong but the bodyguards tellin is not wrong in our country u can see the most hilarious shit goin on, but i think u are right , im not saying he is a bad musician , he is awonderfull musician and a great producer so maybe thats why i think ppl spected more from his presentation thats all. maybe he just have a bad day as guy cohen tell . but what is truth is that other artists has come too and had a hole diferent actitude. like sonic wave sayz cosmis has come to mexico since the beginning of scene and he always is there sharing dancing and getin in touch with ppl in the party and rocking the dancefloor every fukin time!!!, just for example.- |

once space triba came in chaishop tour and he was even at the danfloor dancin just befor his live, fred form neuromotor cam once and he even goes down and dance with the fucking ppl , but hey maybe they are not such big stars like astrix, who is it anyway?? i dunno who blaim is if the party organizer or if really astrix ask for all that shit but it was so stupid, ok so lets go tho the point, he played 45 min. live that really sucks , he played fire twice on rmx and original , and then in dj set play it agian , hey is good track butt i think ppl expected more from the n'sync guy of hommega , anyway is funny stuff how many of this guys convert isselfs in rokstars yeaaaahhh!!!!

Well,I remember Riktam,Neuromotor,CPU,Mekkanikka,Raja Ram,Dado,M. Maichel,Arne Schauffsen,just to name a few, dancing with the crowd...here in Spain.
Are they smaller names than Astrix???

no they r definitely not smaller names than astrix...but different people have different ways...
i can vouch for the fact tht neuromotor really comes along with the corwd n dances along with the crowd have seen it live...
as regard to astrix...wont really change my opinion on the guy coz of this thread beacause i kinda feel that he surely will have his own reasons too ...
cmon coz in this culture there is a lot of closeness among the people...can anyone tell me if they had msgd any other artist apart from a psy artist will the artist reply...even for the smallest of things..it happens in this culture...most of the artists present on this forum reply to whatever is msgd to them...
well gta look at it from both the sides...

It does surely come from any free-fonts websites.. Like 98,8 % of the fonts used in Psychedelic Trance graphic design..
If it is the out-line thing that you like, Hypex.. 2 minutes in Illustrator are enough to make it !

I don't know about what bodyguards you are talking about, but here in Russia this July he was without any bodyguards he played more then 3 hours (in the shcedule he had only 1,5 hours) and it was smashing. I'm realy don't care what man Astrix is. I know that his music is beautiful and if he want to round himself with 1000 bodyguards it is his own business.

the bodyguards thing is something, and anybody can make with their money what they want, if he wants to hire 6 or 20 bodyguards its his buisness, but the attitude of an artist to the crowd is something else, and i think he really OWES them at least an smile, cause because of them he is in his position. i agree he`s very profesional and good musician, and producer; but its dificult to enjoy, as crowd, an act that the artist doesn`t enjoy himsself...
i really admire astrix as a musician really; but i saw him there, and i don`t expect him to go dancing next to me when his act is finished but at least to enjoy himself.
other thing is that he maybe felt bad, or the party organizers didn`t make good their job and maybe he was starving or needed something... so please, avi, if u read this, let us know your reasons of why (i know u don`t have that obligation) or any obligation with anyone maybe, but just to clear things up

See, i dont know about all this Hullaballoo!!!
A while ago, 'Fire'n'ice' in Bombay had PAUL TAYLOR, INFECTED M, SKAZI and ASTRIX for christmas.
These are all HUUUUGGGEEE names , and i never caught sight of anythn outward. SKAZI is a crowd pleaser and he wont hesitate to jump around with the crowd. Erez and Duvdev are arguably the top doggs of psytrance. Ive never seen them wit any kinda security.
ASTRIX played the last set and he was very chilled out. Professional but chilled.
Maybe he had a few death threats from the Mexicans or whatever....Screw it!!! |

c'mon man dont be mad , i know he is a extremely fascinating musician for lots o ppl, but i dont remeber ever saying if was a good or wrong thing the bodyguards stuff, i just tell u what happen here once at a party, face the realty bud we didnt alucinate this stuff this stuff happen in mexico a couple of months ago thats all....... just a nice tellin for the bedtimes =)=)=) no hard feelins!! cheers!! |

Hello boyz n girls how are you....Listen i know what you think about Mexico, but it isnt as bad as you think. I heared this story by the mouth of Avi Shmailov. Iam from Guadalajara, Jalisco. Mexico. Last 28 of augost of 2004, Avi, Golan n Ohad (sub6) came to play to my town and i got to play nanny for them. Here they told me all about the party in Capital City Mexico D.F. one week earlier.
They told me that it was de production of the party who placed this body guards and da fence was placed also by them. Golan also told me that whenever he wanted to go to take a piss, some one in da organization placed 2 or 3 persons to body guard him.
When Avi arrived he was sick and had been one night before at the hospital, any way he camed down and played. With this demonstrating what a profesional he is. Also, he showed his best face to the dance floor and his fans, because over here everybody loves astrix (specially girls). He was really friendly and always had some sort of conversation. It was really fun meeting him.
Whith this iam trying to say that neither astrix or sub6 were responsibles for this. The problem with this it was a lousy organization but this ones we hv them in all the world not only Mexico

Avi is one of the most professional , honest and straight-forward artists in this scene. Lets start with that.
You might forget that a flight from Israel to Canada takes around 12-14 hours, and although you or the organizers might be fresh for a party, an artist who spends all this time confined to a plane seat might be tired and not in such a good mood. Delays happen, and its not neccessarily the Artist's fault.
You also complain that you had to buy him a First class ticket because there were no more Business class free seats - your problem man, if its so important for you to have this artist and the only available tickets are First class.
About the security - I presume that this is incorrect, but even if this is true - its his right to do whatever he thinks is best for his security, even if you don't think its 'plurish' enough for you. One one hand you organize a huge festival (which requires lots of professionality, and also demand your artists to be professional), and on the other hand you complain that he doesn't join the party and dance with the crowd.
well, I never saw Madonna or U2 go down to the audience either and dance with them - and Avi is at least the Madonna of the Trance world (talent-wise, not something else).
You might forget that for some artists this is a job, and not an easy one - flying on a weekly/daily basis to far away places, living on your suitcases in different places, different food, different people - it is nice to have the experience for a while, but (also from speaking to Avi) it is taxing and tiring after a while. A travelling artist needs his/her peace of mind before and after a gig, and also some privacy and security in unfamiliar places.
Some shit cannot be justified, but knowing Avi and his character and attitude I'm sure that this is not the case.
