Having just returned back from a visit in the studio with Psy Trance
producer Astrix , I felt that I had to put pen to paper to award this guy a big pat on the back.
Whilst staying at his apartment in Tel Aviv, Israel I spent ages looking at two giant picture frames in his lounge, one with a collage of boarding passes and the other album covers.
Then I spotted a World map with stickers on the places he had visited around the World.
Then it hit me what a remarkable achievement Avi Shmailov has achieved at the tender age of 24.
Whilst mainstream magazines concentrate on superstar DJ's such hidden talents as Avi Shmailov are sadly missed.
Avi has traveled the World many times over headlining at major festivals and clubs in every major city.
He has a long impressive discography and had his tracks included on hundreds of compilations, something many A list DJ's have not achieved!! It doesn't end there; he's now onto his 2nd artist album.
now remember he's only 24 years old!!!
His new album 'Artcore' will be released this month on HOMmega productions.
This new album is outstanding. Avi is a natural in the studio; he works alone without help from engineers.
His production skills are both futuristic and forward thinking, he has a skill at playing around with FX
making them do things that they shouldn't resulting in some very trippy moments.
Avi manages combine the cool elements of Psy Trance with Club Trance giving him a credible crossover appeal.
Importantly his tracks have melodies and uplifting moments, and this has grabbed the attention of many music lovers from this side of Trance.
I have a feeling that we may be seeing Avi appealing to many of us on our side of Trance and may even see him in the likes of Gods Kitchen and Gatecrasher soon?
Many of us are looking for something fresh and exciting and Avi can certainly offer this.
That's my BIG pat on the back to Astrix. I really want to support new talent in this World and Avi is certainly one of them.
