Huge respect to Avi and Lior both as musicians and persons, they were ahead of their time and produced great original music with their own unique sound that passed the test of time. Thousands of people all around the world got introduced to psy trance music because of Astral Projection and this says a lot.

For me one of the top ten artists of all time in the psy trance history.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

Just out of curiosity what is your cup of tea? I mean the free compilation via H&H on Ektoplazm heads more in to as litho psychedelic perspective of modern techno but has very little to do with actually trace music (btw it's a great release thanks).

Do you actually listen to any Goa or Psy trance? I mean you pay out on anything "dark" & you don't like AP style grid.

I'm just curious as to what actual Goa or psy trance you like other than prog & tech stuff?

X-dream are my oldschool heroes...

, anyway i didn't said AP sucks or something :S

but respect to them, i wasn't looking to hurt feelings Mike. i would love some recomendations to hear more about the music they made

Respect!

Reminds me when I saw them back in Tokyo in 97 in a half built building with about 100 other munters. Was what got me into psy trance and the japanese psy trance scene. Revelation!

No worries, I wasn't hurt or anything just curious to see whether you're the new generation or grew up on the old stuff. I listen to anything in EDM but this genre is my fav followed by the early Detroit & Chicago sounds & the old UK drum n bass.

I'll pm you some fav's later tonight when I'm home           Cuntus Maximus.

There were 2 major different "schools" back then.
There was all the Israeli stuff with AP, IM, MFG, Sandman and the rest and there was the European sound, with Eat Static, The Overlords, MWNN, X-Dream, Manmademan, Slinky Wizard, Transwave, GNOTR, Hallucinogen, Kox Box..etc

Some people liked both, some people preferred one.

Really brings back some nice memories for me.
=)

cheers!

did the same not long ago..remind me great times really enjoyed astral till 97 but then got bored heard them play too much always the same tunes and later didn t like the new direction of their sound

i don t like much isreali sound, but astral is one of the best live i have ever seen for sure ,their is maybe a few exception but most of their tunes were dancefloor hits in the old days

ap and hallucinogen were my favorite set in the goa trance days..i m not original folowed by all the great projects from total eclipse transwave koxbox joti dino technossomy etnica ect..list is long

nectarios how can you put sandman in the same line as AP/MFG/IM ? its nowhere close to be sounding anything similar... sandman is very darkish/industrial - completely the opposite of them

anyways, i get exactly what wizack is saying - astral were among the first trance tunes i ever listened to, i still get shivers when i hear the melody entering in people can fly and dancing galaxy - while far from being my favorite astral track, its just so optimistic that even if it may be a little cheesy - it just puts this smile on your face so its cheese i dont mind eating

they had some really great work up until 2000 - for me it all went downhill since then, just like with almost anyone but dick trevor who went from goa to fullon...

just to prove a point - astral did some absolutely non cheesy tracks i just love how this track's sound just envelopes a dancefloor and then explodes

I don't think Sandman is darkish at all, but anyhow I was talking about the Israeli style with all them melodies, hence why I mentioned them in the same sentence.

I mean no disrespect to them, even if I did not like their music.

Anyhow, speaking of AP, a new TIP release is on its way.
