you really believe that? more strong than ever? why are they more strong than ever?? cause they were the ones to write the first capitals of trance history? i mean, of course they deserve all needed respect, but it doesnt make them stronger than ever. and yes, as someone mentioned, some djs do more live than some live acts nowadays. me personally, i am a big fen of lives, i mean, i like them much more than djsets but if the case is such that there is no fucking virtuosity in the act, it is the same like i would put a cd and listen at home, then what is the meaning to be there live? just to be there present? to make a small vacation in a nice country?:)
and even if almost no one makes 100 percent live , they do make a little bit though, that categorises them as such. if you put a cd, it is simply not live:))))))))).

haha do you suggest maybe that you can actualy write hole new track or something on stage???
they doing great electronic live show , nothing more nothing less is expected... this what the biggest bands and electronic projects do , play their own loved songs with a twist and some control on it
all you need is more imagination what can be done with those channels splitted...

and you need to observe what is happening too. cause otherwise it is not live. live means to be there and be one with the audience.
that is why there is a great difference between the big bands and electronic projects of the mainstream on the one side, and the real psychedelic live acts on the other side. the first just push a button and play what they know. they are the fucking middle of everything. no matter the channels and the twist. the point is that they are simply not keeping the energy of the gathering in a circle but it is one way journey. the one is leading the trip, all the rest follows. and this is not the case with real true psychedelic acts. they are there, they dont just act, but they react. they observe and follow. no matter the channels or whatever. at the end of the day noone is making as real lives as they used to be done by musicians before the electronic sound came. face it. not even one real real live act. so it is not so much about the percentage of being live, is much more about the energy circulating in a circle. this is the difficult point.

Hehehe, mate no, You miss the point, I said it's not somethin' special in their live act, just movin' faders up/down like almost every artist do. Someone also plays some parts on synths.
And I respect all acts who even try to do something on live, not just to press play, I respect Tegma, too but as I wrote, it's not something special to be named "OMG,THAT IS A REAL LIVE ACT"
And of course, no one can write the whole new track on the stage, except if the project have many people involved

why enemies? just objective conclusions...
of course astral were the pioneers at the beginning and i highly respect what they did for my personal consciousness shift, but if it is not live, then it is the way it is....
the past doesnt make you stronger than ever.....
but i will never ever forget the years when they were THE big channel of cosmic energy. i listened to them for months, non stop almost, it was the time to start awakening....and i will always respect them for that but you know. you have to be a little bit more interested if you make live.....

I dont wanna start a big long discussion Moki, but just think for a second:
When an artist come to play LIVE, with instruments or using midi controllers to manipulate some part of the tracks, thay HAVE to plan it ahead of the performance.
Thay play live yes, but they have to follow a playlist.
What if the crowd dosnt respond very well to the next song? well, they've to stick to it.
In the other hand the DJ can read the crowd and play what is needed on the dancefloor. And in a long set by a good dj, he can "design" a journey with up and down, get a connection with the crowd and select music to make the party flow.
"The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures." |
