Febuary 2003, I'm in my 2nd month in the army, jobnik in cafot in the course in Bahad 6 (army zone). Just before i fall asleep, my friend Daniel, the one that infected me with trance a few years back, sends me an SMS "Have you heared Cosma died?". I thought he was kiddding, its just didnt make any sense. But after I checked it out, i realized he was serious, I was depressed. Cosma was no any other artists, usually when an artist dies, he gets more respsect in his death. He had a unique style, of his own. Something that alot of artists create and style looking for today.
Avihen Liven was borned in 79 in Kiryat Bialik (Israel) and with time hooked up with the club scene. Later on he found Trance and fell in love with it, and in 98 there was the most meaningful turn-point when he intefier with a conversation between Beny Risher (half of the project Basic today) and a friend. Later on they quickly started to work together under the name Diablo. A year after they released their debut album 'Insufficient Memory'. With the encourage of Dj Jorg (Shiva Space Technology) and with his cooporation they turned into the more minimal side of trance, but never followed on for a 2nd album, because of a massive accident that Beny participated in.
After they splited, Avihen went to Germany and got there for Jorg his stage name, Cosma, it means 'A start of something'. "They always believed that music should come with alot of soul" says Risher, "And Avihen was able to find the right combination between the heart and the legs."
In 2001 Cosma released his debut album, 'Simplicity", in B.N.E Records. The album shocked people, got people throw their hands in the air, and got faces on many people, it was ovious that it was something special. Avihen added to the music Athnic elements lots of feelings, he used samples of Gregorian singing and Moazin. But what made it so unique, is the combination, despite the contracity, serenity with lots of power and very unlike anything else style.
The Next album wasnt followed in B.N.E Records, and Avihen went to Hom.Mega Records, changed his direction abit, but basicly was the same Cosma, just little more dark, fast and agrresive. His second album, 'Nonstop', had progressive and full on in it, but unlike today, that was an original full-on that takes you to new hights and doesnt recycle metirial.
In Febuary 2003 Avihen went to India to take some air before he release his second album in a world tour. On his was back from the Plulim Bitch he crashed his motorcycle, and died later on in the hospitle from his wounds. Livne left behind him family, friends, a whole scene in a complete shock, and shoes that no-one can fit in.
"Theres no-one today that makes music like him." says Eyal Yaankovich, the owner of Hom.Mega. "Its incredible to see in parties, that when his tracks are played, how it effects the cowd, everything is going to another diffrent level". Hom.Mega are thinking for a while, about making an album with Cosma remixes, but they turn it for a better time every time. Yaankovich belives that the time of the second album, just like its name 'Nonstop' is not over yet. His music is still rocking since then till the next time." The lable keeps in touch clsoely with the family, and his life you remember, whether in the parties, or in the class that made to memorize him in June 2005, in the music university BPM, closed to where he was borned.
