I see the culture in my way and that's how I define it and talk about, however often feel like a small minority in this way of thinking especially within the regular "partygoing" scene. It's also why I like travelling to select festivals, those where are the organisers are doing it for the right reasons and doing it properly.

agree and feel the same 100%, well said baba

No, I don't regret anything. raving was a great experience: music, people and parties had a great influence on me.

Life is about learning, and there is not best way to do it that going out there, make mistakes, meet people, dance and enjoy your self.           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

I usually preface with "there was a time when..."
And then conclude with "there are still times when I ..."

On the contrary I'm very proud. Especially of what I have accomplished the last 20 years applying my small mark in the scene.

The psytrance scene changed my life so drastically for the better that I could never resent it. It has provided me with so many fun, funny moments, not to mention music that is so fucking addictive and varied.

I kind of have a hard time keeping such a positive side of my life away from people on a day to day basis. This also makes me less inclined to meet new people outside of the scene as I find myself less enthused by non-psytrance based activities and conversations. [/Obsessed]

I'm ashamed of some of the degenerates that psytrance has empowered. Especially those using the ideas of "we are one", "plur", and "freedom of speech" to be complete jackasses and give the trance scene a bad name.

exactly, degenarates is the best word to describe it.

Btw the categorisation of people by moki is a very limited not complete one. Since I just opend a new third category: people who are not ashamed, but don`t talk about everything with everyone. I think that this might even be the biggest group

indeed. it was not even a categorisation but a statement that people who are not ashames are doing the right thing and people who are ashamed are not doing the right thing
therefore only two states of mind:) i'm glad that the majority is not ashamed either. in spite of renegates i am greatly thankful to the trance festivals, at least in the past. nowadays i am not that good at accepting "renegates" in my environment.

and yes, i understand already that the majority of people would not like to talk about the secret part of the culture. i put the post a bit too fast in the night, but what i meant is not so much the talk about it but the adorement and respect towards this culture as a source of wisdom and exctatical experiences. sometimes there is the need the share this adorement. not to advertise it. but to share it with others who might look for such experiences too...

oh, i know that state so well...i had it for years and years...lost in the tales of the trance island...

i am glad i got the discipline to look outside of the circle. and sometimes i come to talk to "people outside" about the utopian trance state as a way of self improvement in modern society. because justice, tolerance and utopian vectors are really important to me and i need to strive for it in any given situation, also outside of the scene.
i find this totally okey, because this type of conversation out of border can teach you a lot about the world you live in. they would not understand it but it is their question what makes the encounter so precious.

but i have to add that i am ashamed of myself because i was not strong enough to stay on the path. and i gave up the "cause" because of degenrates.

p.s. there is a phrase "the cleverer gives in" or "better to bend than to break"... i am afraid this is not always the right thing to do.

feeling ashamed, for what?
did you harm anyone? if not, why be ashamed? you are a human struggeling with life in whatever fashion you choose, like all the others. errors, mistakes, stupid things, growing up.. thats life. stop overthinking and mystifying everything do death.           http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/stereofeld-frequenzwechsel

+1.

Also, stop focusing on the negative things of music and people. Focus on negative energy enough and at some point it will run your over.
We are only human and are bound to fuck up, some more than others, but such is life.
How can you be ashamed of being human?

oh thanks, this sounds really nice and easy going
of course humans can make mistakes with many trial and errors throughout their lives.

i believe that mistakes are never irreparable though. maybe it is fundamentally important to look in the mirror of your brain and to ask yourself what you would have done better and what can you do now. i mean, generally speaking about the trance culture - the question if there is anything to catch up with or to finish and put an end...

and btw i would find it difficult to not mystify everything. i cannot stop wondering in awe about the strange inexplainable code and structure behind life. everything that happens around us can be called a mystery, it is just the way synchronicities appear, things manifest, encounters happen, sound is created, everything in nature turns out to symmetry and harmonic intervals, inpredictable weather and butterfly effects take place, and the smallest particles....well okey, sorry, forget it

There are tons of situations where I keep this all for me and stay calm about my true I, that's how it is living in babylon. You always will meet likeminded people though.           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden
