i just moved to nyc from india and was wondering where I could meet fellow ravers....
where r the big parties?
would love to meet the rave crowd here n boom with them

There are desi people in all parts of US...You are lucky to be in NYC. One of the most thriving psy scene in US. Otherwise, you can find in SFO. Even mid-west has lot of desis. I am in Iowa and I know lot of people from Chicago, Detroit, Purdue etc.

I hate to contradict, Catalyx, but some people call trancers ravers!
NYC has a great scene! Theres a few threads here in the NA section from NYC promoters! Look around.
And, well... I was a raver at one point... no candy or pacifiers, but y'know, gabber parties and shit like that....

haha.. let's not mince words - that's what toes are for! took a few years of psytrance parties before i even considered that i might be a raver. turns out i've been stark raving mad the whole time

Back at home (India)....the only music we ever heard in a "rave" was goa/psytrance....a rave = psytrance in India. 
I only learnt that raves had a difference from Goa parties in the US after I went to both.............not to mention all the other great electronic music I have encountered here....dnb, jungle, breakz, Indi/Detroit techno....etc...etc. 
The differences b/t raves n goa parties are minimal........the meaning/feel/representation is vast...
Boom!!!
