***ANTIX***
got only the ep and no time to mention the playlist right now. u can see it on psyshop...
but:
FOR ME A MILESTONE IN MUSIC, SOMETHING LIKE THE HEADCLEANER BY ATMOS DID YEARS AGO....
IT MAKE ME FEEL LIKE I HEAR THE FIRST GOA TRACK IN MY LIFE, SO FREE, SO NEW SOOO MUCH ENGERGY INSIDE
(MANY WOULD SAY BORING AND TO SLOW AND SO ON- you can see it as you want, for me always : less is more, and the more slow it is the more fat and deep...
and anyway i prefer a quite track with some cool spheres than an overloaded track....)
BUT IF YOU ARE @ A PARTY, OUTDOOR, IN THE MORNING... AND HEAR ONLY 1 OF THESE TRACKS PUMPING THROUGH A FAT SOUNDSYSTEM, AND FEEL THE BEAT PUMPING LIKE YOUR HEART (AT 135 BPM) AND AFTER AN AMAZING BRAKE WITH VERY ATMOSPHERIC AND MYSTIC SOUNDS YOU HEAR THE FAT STOMPING TRIBAL BEAT CONTINUE, I WOULD SAY, IT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!!!!!! (if it hapens like this, no-one can stop me dancing .-)
THIS IS PUURE DEEPNESS, PURE SENTIMENTAL FEELING, PURE GROOVE, PURE FUNK, PURE QUITE ENERGY, = LULL
THANK YOU STROM BROTHERS FOR THIS AUDIO-ADVENTURE, I'M VERY THANKFUL TO YOU - YOU GIVE ME TRUE FEEEEEEEEEELINGS, AND HOPE!!! YOU HAVE TOUCHED ME VERY HARD
!!!BEST ALBUM SINCE HEADCLEANER!! |

no doubt this is a minimal trance maelstrom !
the kiwi posse due coments of the tracks is better here then any review...
DARKO
this one came about after a recording sessionwith our friend reti and his didge. (cheers for the didge'n smile bro). summer is also here and its getting damnhot in the studio!
HIT THE FROG'N'TOAD
after returning from the 2nd tour we had a few problems finding a new studio. it took a while but after a few set backs we found the perfect spot. and to improve it this number was the first n the new slow burning studio.
BLOOD
on our way back from visionz in south of new zealand we stopped by our dads place and he talked ofthis "bloody" machine that transfuses blood, a "bloody blood machine". this track was named after that night on whisky. cheers dad!
CHASE
we where working to a deadline, and this was the 2nd to the last track, after finishing 3 previous trax in a row, it took some perseverance to finish this. after some re-working we where happy with the end result.
CAPELLA
written in view rd, mt eden, hayden's bedroom. after returning from our first trip to europe we were between studios, so hayden's bedroom sufficed, friendly neighbours!
FREE AS WE ARE
after europe we played in new york for the omni tribe, then headed to colorado to visit our mother. but there was also a shipping strike = no flights outa colorado. to kill time we started a track, and finnaly finnished it two weeks later back in NZ.
ON THE ROCK
we wanted to pick up the pace on this one, and hopefully we achieved that. a friend Nik also lent us a few of his favourite toys... nice one!
SLAVE TO DOSE : featuring Tyrone
this one came to life in mexico city, we had missed our flight back to new zealand after playing a large party in mexico. we figured we had missed it for a reason, we were staying with our old friend Tyrone at louis enrique's pad who had a rather fine studio... 17 hours later the track was finnished.
my remark: served it chilled in the morning, its just a blast ! ! ! |

I'm so happy!!!
2003 must be one of the best years in music, at least for progressive fans. We had Vibrasphere, Ticon and Phony Orphants albums, excellent compils like Fx and Widescreen and now, culminating with the peak of the summer this true gem that is "Lull".
Perfect in every way, Antix debut album is everything I was expecting: tribal groovy hipnotising slow burning piece of energetic ass-shaking music.
Every track seems to be in the right place for a perfect flowing experience. It is difficult in such a musical piece to point any stand-outs, but I have a thing, which I can´t explain (just feel),for "Free as we are".
Don't miss this one... |

I have to say it is definitely the best album I have heard this year so far and very much by far ( that statement I stole from Shahar what can I do? )... To say the truth I didn't expect from this album to be that good.. But it is simply too good
PS - statement for the good and digging souls, this review has NO CONNECTION to the fact I remixed a track from this album, I just happen to like it and that is all

I think you people are in the wrong style of music, this is indeed a wonderfull album but comeone... this is pure progressive house, if you get into the house scene you'll find lots of similar tracks and artists and they are not even called top artists!
I see everybody going crazy with this new houseish trance and I do not understand why, if you like this style so much you will loose yourself in the huuuge progressive house world.
Rating: Progressive house - 8.5/10
Rating: Progressive trance - 6/10
I rate it like this cause if I'm going to see a trance set/party/album I don't expect to hear the same thing I hear in a house one.
Peace.

well, amazing album indeed. minimal, quite, harmonic power at its high flow. stand out build ups and logicaly finished structures, ears pleasent pads and morning feeling all the way.
