What a joke!
Suddenly everyone's jumping to Minimal Techno.
Just have a listen to Antix's newest album
It's not Minimal Techno all the way.
More of a crossover between Progressive and Minimal Techno, as it doesn't have too many of those bleep bleep crackles sounds.
I btw, don't think it's a bad cd at all.
But if everyone's going to follow this path like D-nox & Beckers and now Antix does, we very well may say goodbye to Progressive Trance. |

First of all I don't really understand the problem to be influenced by minimal techno. To be perfectly straight with you, I believe that minimal techno is much more psychedelic then progressive trance, and musically it's definitely few steps above, also production wise. So it is pretty obvious that artists that want to go forward with their creation and not stay in the same place ( that can be boring ), so to sum it up it seems like a good move which hints that they are progressing with their vision and taste.
Secondly, I dont think we will say good bye to progressive trance, but in a way it may say goodbye to itself, since its in a coma for a while now, and I can count very few artists that actually innovate in the prog scene. http://perfectlystrange.com |

Anyway; as long as the change is to a new and creative direction it is gr8. I haven't heard their new album yet but im sure its good.

thats the point! Briliant post, and I would add music is freedom right, why would you attack somebody if he has just changed his style...

if you dont like it dont listen!
the problem is....that ...especially prog/tech/minimal artists/listeners.....
are not respecting other genres ....and every time they can .....they ugly criticizing other genres!

As a listener, I eager to find true art, interesting and original ideas and to get high from the music I listen to. If the music is stagnant, meaningless and has no soul I have no problem to say it.
There are few releases on the psy side of trance such as LOUD album for instance that are pure genious creations and I am not ashamed to say it, on the contrary - it brought me back to the coconut trees of Vagator and disco valley back in beginning of the 90's.
But unfortunately most of the Full On is not original, is not psy, definitely doesnt innovate and has plastic emotions all around it. Why not to say it then?...
It's ugly only if it's false and dirty and not true and said only to make others to look bad. This is not the case Alias correct me if I am wrong

its kick/ bass
sound design ....and "killer" delay fx
dont get me wrong....there is still good prog/fullon/dark/tech.... acts

as a one who listen mostly to progressive music I can say that I really do not like anything from Zenon Records.. No emotion no music it's not Progressive its Frogressive.
also I think that the persanteg of good music is very high in prog while its low in full on.
