This is what I get when I record my Slim Phatty without playing notes, just the noise.
I've upped the db's by 6 to make it a bit more apparent.

Sure I don't have the greatest soundcard, I use the Allen & Heath Xone DX for this, but my Nord comes out completely silent.

Is there anything I could do in the way it's supplied by power maybe, or is this just the downside of analog synths and I have to live with that?

It reads around -66.
When I'm trying to beef up a kick which I sampled from the Phatty with compressors and such, the noise becomes worse.

Its USB noise. I've sorted that problem on my Minitaur and Slim Phatty by covering pin 4 on the USB cable. Follow the instructions in this thread http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=15694

From demos, I would say the opposite, it has bags of analog charm, its just that its very precise and the oscillators don't drift all over the place. Which is a good thing, imo. If I want all the notes to have the same beating/phasing, across the keyboard, I can do that. Something I can't do on vintage analog synths.

yeah it feel very stable ! but heard a really nice demo earlier, probably gain staging have some sweet spot that need to be dialed in carrefuly a bit like on my Xs
my main problem with it thought is that it's a bit limited ,i wish it could be possible to fm vcos ,syncro, ring that would be dope, i would have paid a bit more to get more feature.

The LFO goes in the audio range and can track pitch. So there is a limited spectrum of FM that can be achieved.
I am under the impression that it has VCO Sync (just like the Slim Phatty).
You can add an MF-102 and have ring modulation. Cheeky you might say and you would be right. Moog is making things in a way that you are getting close to the fountain, but you can't drink the water, unless you expand with one/few Moogerfoogers.

Anyway, overpriced in terms of features (if you consider an MFB Dominion X, for example that costs less), as is all Moog gear, because people love the sound so much that are willing to pay for it and Moog Music knows it and charges that bit extra that people, are willing to pay.

Managed to create a CV out to track the MF-102 Ring Mod onboard VCO last night.
The Slim Phatty does not have CV/Gate out, but the x0xb0x does. So created a MIDI sequence for the Slim Phatty and then run the audio signal through the MF-102. Then duplicated that MIDI sequence for the x0xb0x and only used its CV output put to control the Frequence of the MF-102 Ring Mod. Tracking is not perfect and there is no fine tune, but after 20 minutes of trying to get the coarse tuning, perfect, I got it.

The x0xb0x is such a handy box, not only does it sound great, but the CV/Gate outputs saved me cash from getting a MIDI to CV converter/Phatty CV/Gate mods.

if you got a sound card that dc coupled you can use silent way to run your cv and would be able to get the ringmod vco to track like a normal keyboard

I got this done already with my x0xb0x, its just that the Ring Mod onboard VCO has a coarse tuning Frequency knob (that covers a large frequency spectrum) and no fine tuning, which takes time to get the tuning spot on. It tracks the keyboard just find once you get the tuning right.
