OK, this is just a stupid idea.
Every time I wanna find info about a certain non-trance artist, I just go to www.allmusicguide.com
Of course, sometimes we're all having serious trouble finding infos about Trance artists.
And as you might have guessed, here is all the music in Israel accoring to allmusicguide.com:

OK, now that we cleared that up we can move on to the idea itself:
why won't we take Psynews.org's tracks,album and labels database, combine it with the great biographies and photos from Isratrance, some posts from DJs and artists forum and of course all the reviews from Isratrance and create a super-gigantic searchable database of Psytrance (not only israeli, of course)?
We already have some of the material, we just have to gather it up and add some more.
Just an idea.

u dont just steal what other people wrote about an artist\band. u have to re-write everything... plus u have the lovely Dj's & Artists forum which was formed for this reason.  |

Well it would be nice to have a huge artists database with their biographys,discography,sites and many many more but this takes a lot of hard work and you have to make updates almost every day and thats not quite possible.
It needs many people and much effort to do the job

Psynews and Isratrance, both are good sites. But psynews isn't updated so often and has a lot of bugs in the databass. On the other hand, isratrance only hanles israeli trance. Combining them would be great

I'm sure that if both site will see that our intentions are serious they'll agree.

Shahar's policy about using site material is that it's OK as long as Isratrance gets credited for it.
Isratrance is a non profit organisation.

I am very happy to hear that, Boris.
Maybe I didn't make myself clear. My suggestion is to create a site which would also accept content from the users and the labels/artists, somekind of an online trance encyclopedia.
All the content will be filtered by chosen editors, of course.

if you need help coallating and proofing and translation, im at your service, my good man. way to go on the initiative.
on a personal note, since were using isratrance's DB, i think it should be an offshoot of isratrance, combining the israeli side with the global side. we should give full credo and support to the isratrance crew on this one, no goofing around. if we use it, we use it properly.

Yes, of course.
But building such a site takes much time and resources (and knowleage). I assume that if we'll have enough ppl working with us, we will be able to pull something up.
About the offshoot of isratrance thing, it's a great idea. Altough I'm not sure if Isratrance's server has space for the site
