Alien Project - Aztechno Dream (no politics)

I thought it might be a good idea to
think about this eagerly awaited (by me anyway) album from a musical point of view....
1. Crystal Skulls (Dance Mix)
2. One Good
3. The Ring
4. Silent Running
5. Aztechno Dream
6. Next Life (NBK Mix)
7. Skunk
8. Artifical Beings
9. DJ Where Are You?
T1. straight away we find out we have quality Alien Project on our hands with this new take on the 1st revelation. Nice lead riff...
T2. Riktam's work (yes he is credited:) shows through here... it's a quality tune but I personally don't like the riff at about minute 3...
T3. Ok here we go! killer tune once it gets going... is this the first use of LOTR? Definitely not the last, I guarantee.
Mr Linker clearly likes the 'ooteenee' sample from Star Wars... so do I:)
T4, T5. ... are similar: they have the same melodic theme, but T5 is faster, has a different bassline, and has these Event Horizon samples (ari linker must have been watching it with astrix i guess:) ...
T6. Now for a change. My favourite tune on the album. I _really_ like the subtle 'clicky' percussion.
T7. I find the main theme of this tune a bit grating... but that's just me I guess. Maybe it's also because I have an allergy to South Park samples! I am still totally looking forward to the 1300 mics album....
T8. a more melodic morning mood here... and i like it...
T9. even later in the morning to finish off.
Overall I think it's at least as good as Midnight Sun: but more mature/polished. And of course TONS more memorable than Dance Or Die. Several tunes are of 'DNA' / 'Genetic Eyes' standard...
Am I the only person who really rates this album? I've basically had it on repeat play since I got it. Hoorah: Alien Project are appearing live in London this weekend and Ill be enjoying every second I can assure you!
One final thing... what is the deal with the dog? is it Samuel L. Jackson's dog? It features in DNA as well... always makes me laugh...
EDIT: some versions of this album have 10 tracks! see posts below.... why??

WEIRD! i wrote the numbering down wrong.
The weird part is: there do indeed seem to be two versions of the CD. My version has 9 tracks (I am staring at it now). See

But the version on Psyshop has 10 tunes (and track 8 is People can Fly, as you say).
Maybe I had looked at the psyshop track listing the other day (I did) and remembered subconciously. Oh well. What is 'People can fly' like??

I dont think the remix of ppl can fly is very good as a remix. It seems some parts (melody) of it is straightly taken from the original track and then added another bassdrum. Thats not a good remix imo...
Also I have to point out that track 7 "Skunk" is the best track on the album. If this actually is 1200 Mics (Marijuana) then I cant wait for the new album!

There is no track listing at all on the TIP World website....
Saiko Sounds only has 9 tracks as well...
Maybe it is to do with the maxi release of Aztechno Dream with People Can Fly and the Remix....
Has anyone actually bought one from Psyshop and got it with 10 tracks????

Okay guys, this is what I have been told....
The promo copy of Aztechno dream there were 10 tracks on it including People can fly rmx. Once the real copies were in stock, there were only 9 tracks. This is because Astral Projection wanted too much money for the Alien Project remix! As Astral projection own the track they get the royalties even though Alien Project did the remix. Therefore Tip at the last minute had to take the track off the finished CD.
So all you guys out there with promos will get the track while us who rely on buying cds won't.

on the psyshop website the cd track listing shows People Can Fly along with the sample. unless psyshop is cheating the buyer. |

Well i think that Psyshop get promos just like djs and so on....so they pop it up on the website as a 'Coming Soon' and then just transfer to a 'New Release'
but this is just what i think, i do not know....
as i asked above has anyone bought from Psyshop and got all ten tracks on the Released CD?

psyshop use the promo track list.
thats why.
i think next life is the best here (you can hear chris's work here..)
and then skunk is the second best.
all in all this is an EXELENT album.
one of the best full on albums of 2002.
even if GMS are still no 1.

Nice CD... I dont like all the trax.. My favoriets here are 1,5,9 and ppl can fly Rmx.
