Akasha Festival is held on a stunning 500 acre private property, North West of Sale in Gippsland, Victoria. The environment is flood planes, with billabongs and heaps of native flora and fauna surrounding the area. The Thompson River runs through the property and bends all around the festival zone. This is such an important river to Victoria supplying around 60% of Melbourne water, which has a massive effect on the environment. This river is clean and flowing, which means fantastic for swimming, it’ so refreshing!
Appreciate the space that is provided, thousands of hours have gone into restoring this site over the last two years. There are heaps of good camping spots close to the river and plenty of shade too. We feel it is so important to be comfortable at our event and do our best to provide all facilities to make this possible. Home made functional bush showers, compost toilets and plenty of clean fresh drinking water is the least we can do.
You are coming to a powerful place with a special energy behind it, treat it with respect and enjoy………It’s really magic!
Wilderness Society
The Wilderness Society is a community-based environmental advocacy organisation whose mission is protecting, promoting and restoring wilderness and natural processes across Australia for the survival and ongoing evolution of life on Earth. Without our environment we have nothing. Akasha Festival is fully endorsed by the Wilderness Society and any profits from this event will be donated to them.
Art and Performance
Time is art and art takes time. That’s cool, because we love it, that’s why we do it. We love experession!! An enormous amount of time goes into setting up this beautifully decorated party, some of the people involved are :
Loopusphere, Deamatrix, Canopi Crew, So Fired Up, Crystal Crumbs, Porn Palace, Cowboy and the Kelly gang, Punk Fairy, Apple Boy, Resonant Temple, Geoffes, jho, psykell, faericake, biadolical, Xylem Phloem, Mutoid Waste Company and of course the Akasha Crew.
-Enter a world of imagination and take a journey through the Re-psychedelic art labyrinth.
Awesome visuals projected by Miss Random, Melt Station and Jabberwocky –Light-mesh Media.
Jamming Space, mo0onlight cinema and Nexus Tent by Rainbow Architect
- Opening Ceremony by Young Spirits (local Aboriginal) Dance Group.
-Various performers and Fire Shows through out the party!
- Nigh time is just a whole other world, all thanks to the Phase Shift Boys! Back for another impressive lighting display, these guys are professionals who know what they light!!
Sound
Get ready for FUNKTION-ONE (the full thing baby!!!!) Oh yeah, the big one, brought to you by John O’Donnell. A Sound Designer with over 24 years experience, John can make this super system sing and with a little assistance from the Double Infra Horn, (yeah, it’s back!!!) you will be swimming in sound.
'Go John he’s our man if he can’t do it no-one can!!!’
Main Stage will be running from Sunset Saturday to Sunday Sunset.
Opening Ceremony
Paths have crossed, life has been lived, music has been made and loved….
Two Rhythms will beat at this special opening ceremony, guided by an indigenous spirit. Share with us in this ancient celebration of life and love.
Opening ceremony will start a bit before sunset at around 6:30pm Friday evening.
Gates open 9am Friday morning |

Are you backpacking? Or would you like to help the environment?
We are encouraging people to get PUBLIC TRANSPORT to Akasha Music Festival!!
There are 3 large trains daily to Sale from Spencer Street Station Melbourne.
From Sale station to the festival site it is only 10kms, which is a cheap taxi ride!! A couple of bucks each if the taxi is full.
And, by popular demand we are considering arranging a shuttle bus service from the station to the site.

This will be the best festival of the Australian party season!!!
It was pretty sensational last year, nice to be at a festival that hasn't been ruined. The energy is pretty unique. The music was killer!!!! The sound unbelievable. The atmosphere aure inspiring! This is definitely a festival where 'magic happens' and camping on the beautiful river was a bonus.

Public transport is available to the festival site.
There are 3 trains per day that leave Melbourne and head to the festival town of Sale.
Site is only 10kms from the station, we will be providing transport to the site from station for a small charge to help cover bus hire.
