xeno older tunes are not too intence and slowish.. pritty far from "dark" tho is one of the fathers of the darish style. evry one see sub sub genres diffrently 
i reckon zenon indeed is aggressive prog its the first thing come to mind..
polish mafia specialy last kino oko realese.. not too fluff exept sometimes

xeno is def not progressive but agressive 4 sure in a creepy crawly swampy way.a very diverse yet progressed from agressive-progy to a full fledged evil agressive way....this is my opinion

Maybe Morphem??? Monitoring album has a lot of effects, but with more minimal basslines... Try to check "GameLord" track... Killer offbeat bassline, with spacey fx´s!
