So mates, what do u think about this (almost)10 years of trance movement in Portugal?
after so many booms, psybertechs, fredooms sinergias, after the flawless of updown fest..so many parties..many orgs that camed and disapeard..many friends that partied with us and don´t go anymore..the magikal moments we had in parties..
Do u think the movement in Portugal, is still growing or has reached a stagnation?
what was the best(s) moments u achieved/had in a partie..and most of all, do u think, somehow, partying and belonging to a psychedelic movement has changed your point of view, in terms of people, your life and of the world?          ...

Nice topic...i was waiting for someone to put this questions up sometime soon.

On my behalf i can just say it as been an honour to be a part of the movement itself,to go to so many nice events, some truly unforgetable,to know so many good people and indeed it did change something inside me,through interacting with Psychedelic Trance.

To answer your question i dont think the trance movement can grow much more in our country, but on the other hand it can,and will, mutate and evolve into a lot of sub genres, what will surely reach out to a much larger audiencesomeday, and also there is still much work to be done in terms of event promotion and organization in our beloved Portugal.

Anyway i just hope to celebrate ten more when they come!

Hugs.           Be well...

well , it´s truth many year´s have pass since my(ours?) first party (my was newyears party 99 to 2000)...... :) and what a felling it was...
many things have change, some no...

well , i think the movement in my opion has pass for a bad time like 1 or 2 year´s ago, where maybe the enviroment wasn´t that good , but i think nowday´s the party´s are
back to some good envrioment´s, i´ve been to about 4 "big" party´s this year, all had excelent envrioment , except for 1 , but it wasn´t that bad also....(problably the organization and line up count´s very mutch).

i think also that psy trance party´s are mutch more "popular" and it´s hard to grow more.....
maybe more organization´s became more professional, with more diferent line up´s, insted of the same names that i despise, and is in thoose party´s that have the worst crowd.there´s also the $$$$ factor that we all know what it makes .....

but yes , i´ven been to many fantastic party´s witch are hard to forget, canha , barroca dalva, marrateca...... :)

and some still to come .....hopeply
´

see ya

neither one or other, besides some few good events (paries&festivals) the movement is going backwards...
money is the wheel that makes the world spinning and nowadays in trance events is the main aspect. i dont judge the orgs because if you organize something is supose that you have some profit.

Yes, problably is more parties and better productions, but i really miss the "good parties".

I don´t know if it is i who is growing old and don´t have the same energy i used to have, but since 5 or 6 years ago i really got disappointed and don´t feel like going to parties anymore.

But it certainly changed my life in a lot of ways...That´s why it is still the kind of music i hear more and like more.

The future of trance in portugal is more or less defined: it will evolve (sorry about the english) like everywhere else in europe.

A question: Does anyone still hears about the meaning of P.L.U.R.?
That doesn´t exist anymore. I´m sorry to say it but trance/goa as i knew it is no longer possible.

Last 10 years?

It’s been one hell of a ride...

Yet, in terms of music and parties, what once was new, exiting, adventurous, thrilling, innovative, is nowadays in most cases, old, boring, "samie" and predictable.

With the exception of few (organizations and artists).

Most people nowadays don’t really want to get totally loaded, all the time at every party, like it's the end of the millennium, its not like that anymore I guess.

I started avoiding going to “pure” psy parties in Portugal for some years now, basically because it became a routine, and not refreshing or new anymore.

Still there are some good parties in Lisbon I really like to go to, and some interesting new talents, with quality music that I really appreciate.

I guess things changed a lot, but I’m happy to say that I still really enjoy going out, and listen to what I feel is good music, and good performers, but without that pseudo mystical crap envolved, thank you very much.

cheers

Nice topic indeed...

Well i discovered psychedelic trance in 1998, and since then many things have change. The parties, the music, the people...

Trance became more knowed for more people, and the consequence of that is that the environment in parties in Portugal, changed a lot.

It´s true that in some aspects it helped a lot the movement, by the discover of new good artists, but at the same time it started becoming an ordinary world, and sometimes, not psychedelic at all.

I´m just happy for being part of some of those 10 years, knowing lots of beautiful people, going to good and excelent parties, and discover lots of good music.
I believe that the movement has reached a stagnation, because what (for me) is the idea of trance and psychedelic movement doesnt exist anymore. What exists is a totally diferent thing...            life is short or to long so i can give myself the luxury of living it so bad.

I discovered psychedelic trance in 1996 whith Hypnose... great parties! almost secret! amazing spirit! ... that´s why I fall in love with trance...

now, I think the problem is too many parties... 5 or 6 per weeks..the trance is divulged too much... but I still in love ehehe
