Some months ago i tryed to make kicks following the method of infected mushroom, acceptable results but the process is long, to many steps.

Same days ago i tried to make my first synth in reaktior, a "KickSynth", not very good results but it's under construction, you can see a screenshot here http://www.musicadigitale.net/forum/showpost.php?p=124083&postcount=17
and you can download the ensemble here -> http://www.zshare.net/download/55595849fed4c696/

I idea is to sum envelopes to get a more complex envelope, the envelope of course modulates the pitch.
If the sum of envelopes is modulated by powers of 2 the foundamental note of the resulting kick should remain the same note as MIDI, in teory .

I ask you: can be a good idea or not? Continue or leave?

i think bazzism is great.
i was making kicks at sound fordge and i was sure it's good till i try bazzism. when i used my sound fordge kicks i needed to level it to -5db to hear it good, and with bazzism at -10db it's fills to me good (for my opinion better samples can be heard at low volume, and when we use bad samples we raise the volume to hear it good). i know that if my sound fordge kick were not good it doesn't have to be that your sound fordge kicks are not good. but i also heard kick i made with bazzism at big party speakers, and i realy think it's sound superb and it's so easy to make it. and it was without any eq or compression.
i just played with the bazzism and exported some kicks and after i checked with analyzer what note is each kick and then used it with the fit bassline.
for the cubase people i have to recomand you about the spectrum analyzer that you have built in in cubase under the audio title. you just mark the kick and go to the spectum analyzer, then press on "process", after press on freq.log at the left bottom of spectum analyzer window, just a second right thing to freq.log is a small window which you can choose frequency or note, so choose note, and then go to the graph and see what note is the peak of the graph. this is your kick note. this thing is accurate! i exported some bass notes and checked with this analyzer if it showing the right notes, and it is.

I also used soundforge. but i really dont like this program.
With adobe audition it works just great.
buzzism does exactely the same process.
but i prefere to have a wave on the screen while im creating
a kick. and you got the possibility to pitchbend just the attack phase or the parts in the middle or what ever. so u are much more flexible..

I just found this topic, saldy the pictures are not online anymore.

I know the process from another tutorial, but the two steps with fading out and the step with normalizing was not mentioned there.

Could someone explain how that is done in audition or can someone upload images again?

about the tutorial you don t need to normalize just make the kick at the level you want it in the sequencer and fading it s better to do it with the bassline playing, give you more control
