now I dont know what underground is, and I love astrix..

but I just expected some different names that were a bit more outside the ´psy and psy prog´ genres.. of course its a psy festival

would be like solead, RPO, chris lake, trentemoller, shiloh, king roc, max graham, kasey taylor, ondrej, clubbervision, pryda, whatever

Well, you know that It's a psytrance festival. Nice... It's a start...

They prefer to bring really psychedelic artists to play psychedelic music, so I think It's difficult for you to see someone like Astrix, that you like so much (but for me It's only pop music and nothing else). And Astrix is NOT underground music for sure.

And the last one... Chris Lake, Trentemoller, Kasey Talor, etc, innovative? Give us a break man, if all my respect!!

I think your place It's a night club, not a real psytrance festival (and thanks God It's gonna happen, at a time that we see always the same line-ups at the parties). You have the option to choose!!!

And this line-up is superb for people who like real psychedelic music. I really don't understand you man. You want some artists that don't have much to do with this festival, with It's concept and history...

you got me wrong

I was not saying I like astrix.. I was being ironic.. I really DONT like astrix, just like I DONT like skazi..

and you obviously didnt understand my point about the music either...

please dont tell me where to go and where my place is.. that should be up to me to decide..

as for the innovative part, just read again my last post about what innovative is for each person, and maybe you get it this time..

aint I allowed to criticise line ups and have my own opinion?

I love psytrance festivals, also because they are much more than just the music... just this year I already went to 4, in different countries, and whats so amazing about them is that each time is totally unique, meeting many wonderful people, hearing nice music, tripping on those amazing deco arts, enjoying amazing locations, etc etc... I really dislike nightclubs, because I dont like the social aspects of them, having to play all those social games, and also I feel too restricted and with little space.. I love being outdoors, nature and everything.. So I love festivals, but just because I go to festivals doesnt mean I have to accept every single thing about every festival.. I think its my right to be able to say when I think line ups are not to my taste, or when they are, for me, not innovative

as for whats ´real´ psychedelic music or not, Im not gonna write again my opinion, but if you care, then read my post in this thread:

http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/94530/forum/1

one more question.. whats so different from the music minilogue or emok or marian flow and zeo play, then the music those artists I mentioned play? so how comes the artists I say have nothing to do with the festival, but those artists that played or will play there are ok? seems like a kind of strange speech..

but anyways, this discussion is getting pointless.. maybe you identifyed with universo paralello to such an extent that any criticism to the festival is received as a personal attack to you, and therefore you feel like you have to attack me.. but I can assure you I never attacked you, so please relax on your attitude.. im all in peace here

cheers

OK, man. This discussion has become very boring.

But I didn't say that you mustn't go to this festival. But maybe It isn't really the best for you @ Reveillon. But, anyways, I said that you can choose to go or not to go.

About the artists that play proghouse/electro, what I mean is that they aren't the biggest names of the UP line-up and not a big part of the line-up, as always. They are some artists that have something to do with the psytrance scene, like the ones you wrote: Emok, Minilogue and Flow & Zeo.

Anyways... Forget it man. I got your point. You want more non psytrance artists in the line-up. OK, fine. But I think that is wrong to say that It's a so-so line-up. My opinion. Best for me, cause this line-up is amazing, really amazing!!! And most of the people envolved with the PSYTRANCE scene liked it very much too.

come on guys... get a life!

if you don't like... just don't go!
if you like... go and have fun!

easy and simple!

one of the best festival in brazil.... beautiful colors, place, people, music, culture, art and etc... everything there is magical.

And for sure the lineup is very balanced... prog, chill, dark, etc etc... good lineup indeed.

For sure that will not to please everybody... nothing is perfect at all.

hope to be there again.
cheers

I can't see what's wrong with repeating certain names from edition to edition at some psy festival which become a traditional? It has it's advantages IMHO. The musician already know the place, the vibe and is even possibly with fancy to come back at the 'crime' scene. Especially if the connection between crowd and the artist was powerful and warm, n'est-ce pas? It’s kinda friends reunion, and how can one possibly be harmed with good music no matter how many times it has been listened?

This is not true... For example your opinion was negative and was allowed. People disagree with you, that's as health as you disagreeing with people. Think twice before doing generalizations like that.

please people, try to judge a little less and accept a bit more diversity of opinions and criticism.. Its not very nice if we close ourselves to our similar-minded groups and attack whatever is foreign to us, agreed?

Seems like it fits your case at Isratrance issues.

Back to topic:
IMHO the line up is very good, and I know new names are being added. This is not the final Line Up and already got some serious names, and a lot of artists that have never been at Brazil.

I wish all the best for everyone who attend this Festival. There is a very small possibility for me to make it there...
Respect!           .

...Dance like nobody's watching...

...I don't mind not going to Heaven, as long as they've got Coffee in Hell...

I think this line up kicks ass, and most of the progressive artist s booked provide seriously psychedelic music, in a sense that their music fits and blends fine with the nature of Pratigi.
Also i`m very happy to see some groovy full on acts like Zen Mechanics. A few other names from Nano would be very appreciated, indeed.
But i`m more than satisfied.
Now lets wait for the chill line up.

My view about electro music on festivals (and everybody is free to have their own view on psychedelic culture):

electro music and housy cymbals we`re designed to work and sound decently inside clubs, if you told those producers that they`re music was supposed to be played outdoors @ a beach, i believe a bunch of them would change theyre reverb settings not to mention the song`s "theme".

its very contrastin when you hear electro-regressive music in the middle of nature, with a vocoder singing popstream lyrics abouth the urban reality...
If you wanna have festival line ups full of electro acts you`d better change the decco themes, and maybe the public should start wearing leather straps. (just kidding... kinda)

now talking seriously, 1-2 hours of electro music every day can be positive in a sense of giving a "break" to psygoa mayhem, but after some negatives experiences (like some days in 2006 TF`s summer edition, when people we`re getting into heavy bad trips because of nonstop "club" music inm the middle of nature) we can see a drawback in the booking of electro artists in several festivals when compared to previous editions.
Up06 - 07, TF Summer-Winter (wich did not happen).
There we`re a bunch of people really pissed @ Boom about the abuse of electro during the days, so i believe in 2008 it will change a little there too. Overdose...

Obviously its a matter of taste, and electro is nowadays a very POP style (as pop as it gets), pretty much dominating the world (from funky kids to old grandmas, from hip hop to rock to axé, everyone likes to hear the minimal synthlines)...
Babylon music at its best.

+: i would be really pleased to see a Dj from deep south where i live (RS) in the line up.
the same way i was delighted when TF crew booked Victor Wortmann (pax.Force) to play at Earthdance festivals. respect.

we developed ou scene very isolated from the main trance scene in Brazil (CentroOeste-Sudeste-Bahia), and maybe that made a bunch of things harder, but nowadays its easy to realize that it was very possitive in a sense that our djs have a unique flavour and see things in a different perspective, way more underground and twisted. I could name you a few guys like Calliari (our scene pioneer/guru who runs Garapia Trance Festival and plays some amazing "festival sets"), Victor Wortmann (groove monster, skilled mixing technics) or even Roma (now signed to Alchemy recs, Uk twisted style sets).

I`m pretty sure there will be more "gauchos" than ever in this UP edition, it would be fantastic to all those "trancers from the cold forests" see the guys that shake the house year `round getting some recognition from the elder scene of their country.

But its up to you in the end

Good feelings about UP festival. Great artists. It would be really nice to see the Necton and Jaia playing live. Think about that.

Looks like a killer line up indeed , I so do hope to be able to fly over for this years UP...

As for you Astrix IM(which is understandable atm) and skazi haters... I love how everyone loves to critisize there new stuff, which myself i do too. But i dont hate the artist in general, i've been going to psypartys for quuuiitteeeee some time now, and i remeber when Infected mushroom was a total inovative and original concept in psytrance along with Astrix (which someone said is pop ? lol ?) I've seen astrix before, and if your gonna tell me he is pop music, then so is protoculture, and many others who are influenced by his music... And wow Astrix is one of my fav. artists, along with penta, parahalu, Space buddah, Menog, Ultravoice, Tickets, multistate, brethren to name a few,and its rare the artist you say to me that i dont know unless its recent. I guess im a skazi(which i never liked) lover too cause Astrix is one of my favorites? i understand yes he is makeing some cheesy music atm, but 90% of the acts you people like, are influenced by his older stuff which is amazing imo.

Im not defending the new cheesy stuff Gms, Astrix, IM make atm (skazi i never liked) with the vocals and the horrible comercial samples, but Astrix, made and still makes some nice nice music. eye 2 eye, earlier promo's and even artcore album are great...or...Commercial ?

Dont be so judgemental on tastes

Hope to see you all at UP in nice sunshine

Boom!
